Easy going dude that gets along with most people. I've been in NOLA since 2007 and love being close to the nightlife and activity of NOLA. But with two small kids (maybe more) we don't get to hit the town as frequently as we used to and it would be nice to have more yard for the kids. Thought it would be cool to overlook the bayou and be on the water. Would have to commute to NOLA for work as well.

We looked hard at a house out there. Nice area but a bit too remote for me. In the end, we moved out close to Folsom. Still water. Still quiet. Just not quite as far. Mr. DP commutes to NOLA everyday. Not bad.

You by Lake Ramsay. Like that area too but thought it was further away from NOLA than Lacombe

Exactly. Yes. Not sure of the mileage, honestly. But, I guess it matters where you're going exactly. Hubby says it's worth it. We really love the area. Worst thing out here is a few too many retirees for my taste. But also a good number of families and kids.
