I don't like Gravy as much as the rest of you guys, but he has a point. Enforcing mandatory minimums for non-violent crimes is not gonna do anything long term.

So your saying as long as its stealing and not hurting then let it slide? Businesses will love that.
If you mean drugs, then you have to be more specific. Ive never seen a 1st time offender given a prison sentence for possession in EBR. With the prison sentences you typically see multiple convictions or a plea deal where another crime occurred reduced to just possession with a sentence reccomendation.
Drugs are not treated very seriously in the 19th JDC compared to the rest of the country.

Actually it will. But it will just make the poverty problem worse.
But homicides will drop. Happened in the early 90s

GC should hire some of the usual suspects to just carry his fat arse around town to all his meetings. This way he wouldn't have to walk anymore, because it looks like just walking is quite the struggle.

The problem is that we've gone for far too long with activist judges dismissing cases involving firearms.
There are minimal, sometimes no sentences for people caught will illegal, illegally concealed, or stolen firearms.
I actually agree with him in the fact that poverty typically causes crime and we need more economic prosperity, but when you reject every single viable economic plan because it doesn't favor black people in every single aspect, you're working against the best interests of your community. I mean, this is the guy that called Tony's Seafood, arguably the most successful non-industrial business in NBR, a slave plantation because it was a successful white-owned business in NBR that had a majority black staff. He called the governor a racist because he didn't choose the hospital that paid Gary to lobby for them. Yes, he called the Democrat governor a racist for building a medical facility in NBR.
People like him are a disease because his interests are at the forefront of everything he advocates or condemns. There's a reason why he adores people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and it's because he loves their business plan.

Look at the people committing the crimes and check out their records, most have been given multiple chances by judges. If leniency worked, we would not be having this conversation.

Gravy is right in that poverty causes a lot of this. However, he'll never mention that shitty family structure and shitty ghetto culture in general just breeds crime. There are no racist policies keeping anybody from achieving their goal. The poverty exists because they refuse to be educated, and those that want to are stuck in shitty schools ruined by those who just want to be gang bangers. With no education, there are no job prospects, and so they turn to crime. It's a really easy situation to lay out, however, they'd rather just blame racism.
