That's why you play travel ball. We stack our 6 year old team, practice 6 days a week, play 36 tournaments a year and crush the hearts of the little maggots on opposing teams.
I'm hoping this is a joke, but it is not far fro the truth. LOL.

Typical cliquish pussy parents. Only wants his kid playing with his best buddy so he can influence when and where he plays and vats in the lineup. I would have told him to move his arse up. Let him dominated by older kids.

A draft for 7 and 8 year olds? You gotta do better than that.
Dixie Youth REC leagues have done this for years.

yet another reason league baseball has all but died on the vine.

I hate these draft scenarios for rec ball. I like the way we kicked it old school back in the day in da Parish. If you lived in Buccaneer Villa, you played for Vista. If you lived down around Palmisano, you played for Rebel. Down-the-road scrubs played for Kenilworth. You played for your neighborhood park and had rivalries with your friends at school. The way it should be.

Way CAYL in Central used to be and the way it is run now is a joke. You live in this area you play for Coach Joe, you live over here then you play for Coach Rob.

I told Ben I would've told that dad to f-off and to move the kid up then.
WTF! For goodness sake, let the kid play with the coach his parents choose. You guys whose life revolves around winning little league are the worst.

Would have let the guy have him, then told my pitcher to drill him every time he came up to bat.
BTW welcome to youth sports. This has been going on for-fore-ver!
To keep teams from repeating as champs in parochial youth football, they are allowing "certain schools" to merge teams together. It's blatant and no one can say a thing about it.

you obviously don't spend much time around youth baseball... you're story is common place and not even close to an example of how low parents can go.

I remember in the league I played in as a kid, coaches could "protect" 1 kid in addition to their kids.
Lately it seems little leagues have been replaced by a travel ball model. Kids who are underdeveloped or not consumed by baseball can often be left out in the cold.

I have decent story:
When my son was younger, 7 y/o coach pitch, max 6 runs per inning or 3 outs, my team is up 8 and other team gets a few runs in but cant catch us that inning and time to start new inning is almost expired. 2 outs. Opposing coach tells a kid that comes up to bat to go sit down, kid looks confused, so he yells at kid to go sit down. Yells at another kid to get to the plate and coach fires a pitch past him. Then says "you batted out of turn, you're out". 3 outs ok lets start new inning.
Sick frick
ps - finish the story, even his assistants were like dude wtf... we ended the game there and he didn't coach anymore after that.

Baseball is a shite show. I switched my kid to tennis.
It's nice with the free time we've had this year
