Littering should be an automatic 10 days in jail if caught

I can’t imagine the trashiness one must live in to throw a route 44 cup out of their window with no regard for others.
Absolute scum of the earth. One step above the folks ransacking and stealing from a store

That hard rain the other night showed where all the trashy areas are. The high ditch waters left it all on top of the ditch banks.

Someone actually threw a fricking bicycle in the ditch across the road from my house a few days ago. There aren’t any houses on that side of the road, so I guess they thought that was ok. White trash bastards.

Making them pick up trash for 16 hours would do more than a fine.

It's 100% why civilians should be trusted with military grade equipment.
Throw a cigarette butt out of the car? Instant tomahawk cruise missile through the drivers side window.

I would love to see this happen.
Illegal dumping even higher.

How else am I supposed to find the good fishing spots if nobody litters?

Ehhh incarceration costs taxpayers money. Fine them heavily or enforce physical labor would be a more productive solution.

Some areas do a better job with this but where we are it would be considered racist because some stat would show it disproportionally affects a certain group.

16 hours working on the new Baton Rouge loop is the solution.

I'd prefer a parade. The litters have to walk the route as we throw trash and then after the parade they pick it all up.

Rather make them pick up trash for a month.

Now we have to wait 6 years for the road to get fixed.
ALMOST worth it.

People who don't have money to pay tickets or are on public services should have to pick up litter once a month. Guaranteed to lower littering.

I'd take their driver's license for 6 months.

Nah, bring back stocks in the town square. Folks could bring their kids to throw rotten vegetables at them.

Thousand dollar fine for littering, and the same for people who refuse to pick up their dogs shite.
Would help close the budget gaps and keep our cities non-trashy (literally and figuratively).
