I know you are on a temporary site but a good yapping mutt will do wonders to scare off thief's and other un-desirables.
Also, a few motion-activated night lights that are easily put up and taken down will work wonders.
They now have them that are solar-powered and they are pretty reasonable priced.

Didn't read the whole thread to see if anyone addressed this... But anyway...
1. shite has DNA, but is much lower in "quality" than bood/saliva/(you know).
2. Local testing facilities will NOT do DNA testing without a reference sample (obtained from suspect) on property crimes. They will do DNA tests on unknown samples, which are checked against those on file, for homicides/rapes.
