You either believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, or you don’t. You can’t pick and choose the parts you want and don’t want, “pastor.”

S0 Lutherans (since 1970), Episcopals(1976), Presbyterians (1956), and Methodists (1956) are not mainline denominations?

Mainline has nothing to do with it. Jesus said the way to destruction is broad but the gate to life is narrow.

My comment was a reference to a specific statement about mainline denominations, therefor Mainline had everything to do with my response.

About the topic of the OP, I agree with you.

That men and women are equally capable of reading and understanding the Bible and leading others?

Paul the Apostle and the Bible are crystal clear on women’s role in the church.

I don’t think that was divinely inspired. Sounds a lot like man put that one in there.

It must be fun to explain to your daughters, though.

Honey, we won’t make you cover your face in public like those barbarians do, but we draw the line at you standing up in front.

I’m not sure we can understand Paul apart from NT Wright.

A 21st century person can’t simply just enter the mind of a 1st century Roman Jewish author.

in your eyes, yes.

There were female deacons and pastors in Paul’s letters. He addressed them.

Not one of them have or would consider women as preachers.

What is your definition of "Preacher"?

Is it someone who spreads "the word" about Jesus?

What about the "woman at the Well"?
Didn't Jesus tell her to go and tell the peolple about him?
