Entergy Mississippi in Southwest Ms. is the worst electrical service you can have, sitting watching the Men’s College Basseball game, no rain, no wind, 9:35 it went out like you cut the switch off, happens every time it get dark in our part of the state, 10:00 AM restoration time in the morning, do better Entergy you have us over a barrell, it’s not like we can just say we want EPA or some other electric company, get it fixed and get out of my yard

Southwest mississippi at midnight, probably a drunk hit a pole and knocked it out.

I live at the north end of Ascension Parish, just south of the EBR parish line. My area is also exclusively Entergy and several neighborhoods were experiencing the same issue, although each occurrence was more random; i.e. sometimes the power would just go off on a sunny afternoon, or it might go off at 1:00 in the morning, regardless of whether there was any wind or other adverse conditions occurring at the time.

When we all began inundating Entergy with complaints and requests that they investigate and fix the problem, they predictably ignored us. WBRZ came out and did not one, but two news stories on the problem. To everyone's surprise, Entergy finally agreed to have a townhall meeting at a school in the area. The Entergy representatives got their asses chewed out for two solid hours, but in the end they admitted that they knew what the problem was (ancient equipment and powerlines that were in desperate need of replacement) and agreed to fix it.

Since the installation of new equipment, powerlines and poles, we haven't had any issues. It's a shame that a company has to be publicly embarrassed before they do what they're paid to do, but I guess that's the world we live in...

Or that, I dont take up for entergy for much, but those 2 things probably knock power more often than their equipment failing.
