I’ve used the Frost Guard windshield cover for years. Protects the wipers and keeps the windshield clear. Don’t have to warm the car up.

Like wipers last a long time I south La anyway, seems I have to buy a new pair every year, even buying the better ones.

No negatives with doing it, but the benefits are Negligible. it does help just a little if you raise them up. Accumulated snow and ice will slow down the process of clearing your windshield and windshield wipers aren't exactly designed to clear that shite.

No. Defrost your vehicle before using wipers.
Posted on 1/20/25 at 6:30 pm to pevetohead
Yes. If you plan to use them to help clear off the windshield.
No. If the outside temperature or defroster will melt the ice before you plan on using them.

When I go to Colorado in winter, I see cars doing this. Why not?

You are actually not wrong..
The high tomorrow in Juneau will be 34 degrees and it will be cloudy with no rain/show.

If you get ice your wipers will be frozen in that ice to your windshield, making it a blast to scrape off your windshield.
Just put them up.
Or don't if you're a moron.

You should probably put a disclaimer on this post. Not everybody gets sarcasm around here. Otherwise, there will be some busted windshields.

I have a plastic 3 x 4 with some PAM sprayed on it. Put it on the windshield the night before and pull it in the morning. Ready to hit the road fast instead of waiting 15 to 30 min for car to get warm and no gas waste.
