how to accept this inevitability

It's inevitable. There's nothing you can do about it. As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, everyone is going to die one day. Why stress over it? One day the sun will burn out and this planet won't even exist. All history will be erased forever.

People that were on their death bed were asked what they would change if they could "go back". Most said, in essence, that they wish they would have done what they didn't when they had the chance. So after learning of this I started to just go out on a limb and do what I want to try. Go where I really want to go etc. Hind site is 20/20.....I try to pretend I've come back to "now" and do what I would be glad I did versus what I would look back and feel like "i should have". I'm almost 58 years old and I spend money on what makes me happy. I try to travel to places that I want to see, no questions asked.

ETA- and thank God/higher power for the opportunities that present themselves. Also forgive myself for what I feel I've done wrong. Love and try not to hurt.

Keeping that in mind daily helps spend your time more wisely and treat others with kindness.

Mindfulness techniques like meditation help to focus on the present and not worry about the future.

everyone and everything dies. Comfort yourself that after it is your time, you won’t know about what you’ve left behind. The gift of consciousness ends mercifully at that point.

Enjoy the day you are given

Live with gratitude.

Every day is a good day. Don’t waste your life worrying about death. It won’t do any good.

Always tell the people you love that you love them.

Life on this earth is fragile, but real life begins after this one.

Most people don’t really contemplate their own mortality until they get to a certain age or contract a terminal disease. Most people live in denial to a certain degree.

The Truth is out there and it is beautiful. We all have Life in us and a chance of living together with Christ for eternity.

You hear it every day. Teenager dies in a car crash. Someone overdoses on drugs. A child is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and dies shortly after. Someone is riding a bike and is killed by a passing car.

In other words, death is all around us. These are but just a few examples. It’s hard to accept that a person can be here on the Earth one day, and then gone forever the next.

This has been on my mind a lot lately, how life is so fragile and can end any day. Any of you have any advice on how to accept this inevitability and not let it stress me out?

Accept you finite life and thank your Creator for letting you being here at all.

1. Obtain life insurance license 2. Sell life insurance 3. Spend all day reminding people about how fragile life is. 4. Get 9 “no” answers from people who spend fifteen minutes filling out a form to get life insurance because they don’t have any yet. 5. Listen to 6 of those 9 “no” people tell you about how they’re healthy so they won’t die anytime soon and will just revisit this later. 6. Sell 1 policy for a $600 commission. 7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the next couple hours of the day until you get that next “yes”. Life sucks and is fragile. Make a living off of it.
ok, but that actually seems pretty stressful though

What difference does it make? Worrying or stressing won't change anything. Remember, yesterday was yesterday, tomorrow is tomorrow, but today is today.

I think OP is stressing over dieting all of a sudden or in some random way that’s undesirable. Everyone knows they will pass but would like to do son on their own terms, peacefully and content

I fear the death of others. About my own I am largely ambivalent. It’s not that I am depressed or do not value my life, it is that the longer I live, the more I accept the solitary nature of life ( even in the middle of a family reunion) and the understanding that it’s not a tragedy but rather it’s just more of a completion. And then into the mystery.

If you’re real lucky, you’ll do it long enough to come across the situation I had a few months ago - customer buys a policy after putting it off time and time again. Two hours later, he gets on his motorcycle and dies when someone runs the red light. Boom - success story you get to tell to others all day every day, only for them to assume you’re making it up for a quick sale. I’d like to close with this: if any of you SOB’s have been my prospects and told me no, I hope you die on your kids birthday without coverage and I hope your wife has to sell the house and move into a rental trailer until she finds a man with a bigger dick to live off of.

Like ole Gus McCrae said, “life is short, shorter for some than others… the best thing you can do for death is ride off from it.”

Everyone gets their ticket punched. Better enjoy the ride.
