Yeah, there aren’t many fat arse Republicans in the South. Just look at the crowd at Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.

Well the democrats will be outside the stadium breaking into your cars.

Every bit of this makes sense to me with the exception of Hawaii. Hawaiians are every bit as out of shape as the average southerner.

Can we see a list of just whites? Just blacks?

That would be interesting.
Just guessing, I doubt the rankings would change a lot. In either ethnic group.

You think way less than half the population of the south drag the numbers down that much? Are you making the argument white people don't die young in the south?

I bet that you could find a correlation between lower life expectancy and car rim sales.
As a matter of fact, I bet you can find a correlation between car rim sales and almost any bad statistic.

Sure there are, but the demographics, as I said, explain it. There is no blame from me. The numbers are what they are.

People in some southern states can expect to die eight years younger than the average American

This is a fundamental misreading of life expectancy statistics. The number is lower in southern states because of higher infant mortality that brings the average down.

Yes. It doesn't need to be half to have a significant impact.

I bet you could compare maps of lowest obesity rates, lowest alcoholism rates and lowest tobacco use and get the exact same outcome.

This board is more highly educated than the normal citizen, and most likely more fit. You people who think the demographic here is average...are dumb.

The lower 30% drag stats down wherever you go. The deep south just has the worst 30%.

ll take dying a few years before you if it means I don’t have to become a pescatarian tbh

Hell I'd do the opposite. Clams, oysters, shrimp, fish (redfish specifically), crab, scallops, lobster, crawfish...

Give me that everyday and 8 years longer and I would die a happy man.

Ironically the states with highest weed consumption also magically mirror the highest life expectancy.

Its going to take a few years before these stats are actually usueable.

One thing for sure, you'll find life expectancy higher in places where people utilize outdoor activities the most.
