People in some southern states can expect to die eight years younger than the average American, according to data that lays bare huge disparities in US life expectancy.

Research by the online pharmacy NiceRx found that, while Americans lived for 79 years on average in 2020, those in Mississippi can expect to reach just 71.

For comparison, people in Hawaii — which has the highest life expectancy — live to 80 on average. More up-to-date figures indicate America's life expectancy has tanked to its lowest level since 1996 — fueled by a ferocious rise in fentanyl addiction.

quote:

Ten states with best life expectancy

Hawaii: 80 years, and eight months

Washington: 79 years and two months

Minnesota: 79 years and a month

California, Massachusetts and New Hampshire: 79 years

Oregon, Vermont: 78 years and nine months

Utah: 78 years and seven months

Connecticut, Idaho: 78 years and five months

Colorado: 78 years and four months

Rhode Island: 78 years and three months

Maine: 77 years and nine months

quote:

Ten states with worst life expectancy

Mississippi: 71 years and 11 months

West Virginia: 72 years and 10 months

Louisiana: 73 years and a month

Alabama: 73 years and two months

Kentucky: 73 years and six months

Tennessee, Arkansas: 73 years and 10 months

Oklahoma: 74 years and a month

New Mexico: 74 years and six months

South Carolina: 74 years and 10 months

Indiana: 75 years

You listed 14.

And the worst are listed backwards. Although that does make Louisiana look better on first glance.

Yeah, there aren’t many fat arse Republicans in the South. Just look at the crowd at Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.

Covered this in med school, looking at disease and cancer rates. It’s funny that it hasn’t changed and you can follow the Mississippi River drainage with the stats. Of course industrial contamination from the North in earlier times with soil deposits in those flood plains were always a theory.

What truth? That states highest in population of blacks tend to have lower life expectancy?

But where do the fruits and vegetables really come from when I buy them at Target or Walmart? How much of what we eat today is actually grown in La?

That there are tons of fat arse whites in the South.

West fricking Virginia
Kentucky
Oklahoma

Whites make up like 75% of the populations of Arkansas and Tennessee.

Sorry that you can’t just blame the blacks for everything.
