My dumbasz cut my finger mis-using a razor knife New Years day. I went to a walk-in clinic because I figured it would be faster than the emergency room.
Long story short I needed 7 stitches. I was injected in the finger with Lidocaine. About 2 minutes later while the doctor was waiting for the finger to numb I passed out and hit the floor.
I've been to the dentist before and received several injections in the mouth for dental work with no issues. I guess the dentist uses Novocain though Not sure what this was all about. The doctor said probably because I was nervous or scared but I really wasn't so who knows.....

Doubt it was the lidocaine. There are side effects if you get too much or if it is injected systemic, but it isn’t usually just syncope.

You are probably just a pussy.

You can develop an allergic reaction to it, even if you weren't allergic before.

Nerves, happens to a lotta folks. You can't actually watch the dental injection happen. Dentist is also using lidocaine or articaine as well, novocaine hasn't been used in 40+ years

I may have some answers for you. First, have you noticed any anal tearing or fissures since this incident?

Lidocaine ain’t no joke if your system is completely unprepared.

That’s why I recommend recreational cocaine use. That way your body will react much more favorably when cocaine’s dirty little cousin Lidocaine is used.

When was the last time you ate before the injury? They give a lidocaine injection for a biopsy I had and the staff I talked to really pushed eating a light meal before the procedure to avoid lightheadedness/sick to stomach when getting lidocaine.

Those lidocaine shots seem to hurt worse than the actual procedure they're numbing you for.

There’s really no point in it. Also prolongs healing.

My research shows that enough cocaine and one wouldn't want the lidocaine.

Lidocaine interacts with a lot of other drugs. Might want to check the list of anything that could have been in your system against it and the potential mixture side effects.

Are you asking the board for ideas why you passed out?

I sometimes do that as well. Once you know it is a possibility, it is not so traumatic to deal with. Just tell them next time that you have passed out before and they will have you sit down or lay down before you get the injection. Medical professionals see it all the time, particularly with men!

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I cut my finger to the bone prepping dinner so I went to urgent care. I was about to vomit/pass out after getting lidocaine.

The only difference for me was I just had double jaw surgery and had my mouth wired shut. I was also rocking a severe buzz with opioids and bourbon. I was probably getting 400 calories a day at that point as well. I was very malnourished.
