RIP to a legend. Hands down the best platform for VIP Style, you know more and more sedans (and hatchbacks and wagons!) are going to be dying off thanks to everyone's preference for SUVs.

The GS is a fan-fricking-tastic car, even in more base trim.

Yup, and Nissan in a world of hurt, too. Rapant cost cutting and rapid unsustainable expansion under Ghosn and partnership with Renault did Nissan in. Nissan and Infiniti are fleet vehicles now.
Infiniti offers 5 vehicles. 2 of its three SUVs are nearly a decade old, and they just killed off the compact SUV they couldn't sell.
What on Earth are you doing as a company if you cannot sell a compact SUV in the US?

They had the Xterra which had developed a Jeep Wrangler or VW Bug type cult following and they killed it. Best vehicle the company ever made not named "Maxima" or Numbers-Z.

Nissan’s Titan has been a compete failure too, for whatever reason. It’s not a bad truck, just a little ugly, but no one is buying.

Nissan and Infiniti both had several other big hits here and abroad:
- Nissan “truck” before it split into Frontier and Titan
- 240sx/Silvia
- Versa/Tiida (like it or not)
- GT-R/Skyline GT-R
- G35/G37/Skyline 350GT/370GT
- Sentra SE-R
A large number of my family friends work at the Nissan plant in Smyrna, TN or for various suppliers. It’s sad to think that Nissan could potentially go out of business. I grew coveting a 240SX and a Skyline GT-R, hard to imagine the automotive landscape without them.

I don't think Nissan is beyond saving, but Ghosn's model was all wrong for them. It's going to take some serious digging out at this point.
Infiniti probably needs to go.
Nissan needs to scale back, focus on the models that sell rather than bringing new models to market.
Nissans used to be the enthusiast's option, now they've sacrificed all of that to become econoboxes with horrible CVT transmissions and cheap, plasticky interiors.
Mazda has become the new Nissan.
It makes me sad bc I've driven several Nissans and it'll be a very long time before I consider buying another one.

The Pathfinder remodel was unforgivable IMO

Supposedly Lexus is getting rid of 8 bangers and going to twin turbo 6's.

It's not just you. Infiniti is now used by rental car companies as the "luxury" line because they're cheap to obtain.
Doug Demuro, the YouTube car guy, just did a video on why he thinks Infiniti is doomed to fail. Pretty telling stuff.
