I feel like she has to turn the light on upon entering the room in order to completely ignore the switch in the way out.

I have an 09 Duramax with 250k miles. I let it get all the shakes, sputters, and hiccups out before driving it if its been sitting over night or more than a few hours
Imagine most vehicles are good to go in just the time between cranking it and putting on your seatbelt and shifting into gear

You should let a car run for 10-20 seconds before loading up the engine to make sure oil is well circulated and everything's nice and lubed. It really doesn't have much to do with temperature. It's like sex. You don't just jam the stick into position and go to town. You gotta get everything all slippery.
A lot of modern cars with infotainment systems very subtly fool you into doing this. If you have a car outfitted as such, do you tend to wait until all the electronics are up and running before driving off?

If I don’t let my 2011 F-150 with 111k miles warm a little before taking off I get really hard shifts in low gear for the first few shifts.
I do the same and let it warm for 30-45 Seconds before putting in gear

My car automatically revs to 1300 rpm and then slowly falls to 650. When it hits 650, I take off.

(1) remotely starts the vehicle's engine without placing the key in the ignition; and
(2) requires the key to be placed in the ignition or physically present in the vehicle before the vehicle can be operated.
There's the statute. Looks like remote start without a key is okay.
Only older cars that still require turnkey.

We do this when it’s cold to get the core warm and summer so a/c can get cool. Otherwise we don’t bother.
