"I suppose a bunch of self-sufficient folks that actually love one another, and are trying to figure things out isn't as interesting to you as casting gross stereotypes over people who live fly-over country. But we are a little bit baffled after all that unwanted attention we got a few weeks back, when we actually need you to get the word out, you are nowhere to be found."

"As much as it pains me to ask, we need you to shine a light on this. There are people here who need help. Let's take a time out from monitoring Donald Trump's Twitter Feed and deal with this one. We need attention because we cannot rebuild our infrastructure, our schools, our homes, our businesses without the money that the attention will bring. So here is what we need you to explain to people that don't live in Louisiana:"

3) This flood affected people from every walk of life. It did not discriminate between the good side of town, or the bad side of town. It was an equal opportunity offender. It just tried to ruin half a state. Despite what you may think, we're fairly united against this slithering, slimy common enemy. We have only just begun to figure out how to dig our way out. Maybe you can help us figure it out. At this point, we're open to suggestions, or at least some assistance in ripping out wet sheetrock.

4) You can buy maximum value flood insurance, and it will not - repeat not - cover the cost of the average price of a home in East Baton Rouge Parish. .....
Most Homeowners insurance policies will cover you if you suffer any other form of natural disaster - by that I mean earthquakes, tornadoes and wildfires. But for some reason, not floods. Nope. That is limited.

6) Al Sharpton, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, President Obama, Kim Kardasian, and others - are nowhere to be found. (Although props to Taylor Swift for the cool million she sent us).

Oh you'll get your coverage....

Next week when Obama and Hillary come to town, they'll even bring reporters and don't you dare mention Trump. Peasant.

Why call out trump? He came down here for a few hours and he seemed sincere about his visit.

It looks like it may have been written before he got here. There's also no mention of the edict from the holy one.

Given the context of including Donald Trump among others in that letter that had yet to visit indicates it was probably written before Trump's visit. My best guess, anyway.

No date of the draft was provided on the page that was linked.

It's a decent letter, but it does come off as kind of needy at times. Maybe you should edit it a little first.

The entire letter needed editing.

I hope it gets Louisiana the attention it deserves, but this guy got the attention he was looking for.

It was posted to her Facebook page August 17 (Wednesday).

Was it Thursday that Trump announced he would visit? All the days of the past week have kind of blurred together...

Wear that Lack of Coverage like a badge of honor, LA.

The media is only interested in salacious stories that seemingly highlight a race war or a have vs have not.

The lack of coverage means the is no story for them. It means that the people of your area are doing what needs to be done without belly aching or jealousy.

Y'all are doing it right, so keep it up. Frick the media.

If Louisiana was a "swing" state in the upcoming election, you would be inundated with politicians.

This is a fact and this is why I dislike all of them.

You should always proof read your work; and your first sentence should be attention grabbing, grammatically correct, and a hook for the reader. He was missing all of those elements.

That letter reads like the ramblings of a whiny bitch. There are much more efficient ways to get your point across.

That's his second dig at Donald Trump, who was the first and only person to come down here, and donated and banded out supplies himself.
