I did, too.

"1. A realistic threat to Gainesville from Hurricane Matthew became apparent as soon as Monday afternoon, or 5 days before the scheduled game. Shouldn't that have provided plenty of time to work on contingency plans?"

"3.Florida's stubbornness and flat out arrogance with the "game will not be moved out of Gainesville" message certainly didn't go over well here. "

"5. Louisiana people are absolutely not insensitive to what Florida residents were facing. We've been through it multiple times. Baton Rouge and surrounding areas literally went through hell this summer (Alton Sterling shooting, shooting of multiple law enforcement officers, biblical flooding). We get it."

"Here's one other thing to note, you've heard LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva be pretty adamant in multiple interviews that they bent over backwards to offer as many options as possible to play the game with Florida. Have you heard anyone on the Florida side or with the SEC deny anything Alleva has said?"

Hindsight thing: 20/20. And the problem is the game was postponed because Foley kept Sankey on a string until it was too late instead of being willing to be open to a day/time slot in Gainsville that would have been amenable to all parties.

Wouldn't the protocol be to contact the SEC first since they were supposed to be the deciding party instead of calling UF first?

I'm thinking chain of command on that, like an office, when a big decision is to be made, don't go to the peer colleague, but to the supervisor.

And given the weather reports about Hurricane Mathew and its potential to cause serious damage to much of Fla. (which virtually the whole country was aware of) WHY WASN'T SANKEY PICKING UP THE PHONE FIRST TO CALL UF and LSU TO WORK OUT A CONTINGENCY PLAN???

If I'm not mistaken, during a presser, CEO made a statement indicating that LSU wanted him back at 100%.

Glad they are resting LF7. With three other strong backs to lean on in his absence, LSU should be fine.

If he does come back by the time either the OM or Bama games are played, maybe it will give Ensminger some time to add more wrinkles that utilize Fournette without the other teams having the tape to use to their advantage.

Whenever he returns, will be glad to see him on the field again.

All of your points are non-factors if UF would have agreed to a tentative time on Sunday.

What a novel idea.

Yeap, and I got a feelin' he's not going to be given any discounts on that purchase.
Stankey is so fricked. Hope he enjoys the rest of his tenure.

Yeah, I was not in the "Les Miles is a saint" club.

There were too many little visible things that made me wonder.

Number one being the way he treated J. Lee for the rest of the season after the Bama game in Lee's senior year.

The guy stepped up in a tight spot and led LSU for the first 8 or 9 games and then got put on the field to take a knee. Thought that was pretty petty.

Not saying he's evil twin material, but not coach saint les either.

Yeah I caught the remarks about "both sides acting like petulant children." I just don't see that though for LSU's side.

UF came out posturing with their release indicating that the game would be played at Gainesville.

I don't know if that release was before or after the offer to play at LSU was made, but it having been released after would make sense in that that release was UF's response to Alleva's offer.

For UF to simply shut down on a (pending weather/hurricane damage) re-scheduled game for either Sunday or Monday was ridiculous.

What Set Off Foley

According to Adam Reardon, sports radio personality in Fla., Foley was "set off" by Alleva offering to play the game in Baton Rouge.

He was just interviewed by Moscona.

Guess that was the first offer, and after that, UF decided to keep leveraging until it was too late to come up with a workable alternative.

Wow. So sorry LSU tried to play the game???

ETA: Reardon also sides with LSU on this one:

Is @BigBoyRadio ignoring that Alleva ALSO suggested playing the game at UF on Sun or Mon? As well as in BR... @1045espn

The SEC" Network has proved their salt in "sweeping under the rung." Very thorough "housekeeping." Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Another "high character" outing for the SEC.
the FU women's volleyball team and soccer teams, despite the catastrophic events, bravely played their games.

Real character. Glad I got to witness it. Inspiring.
Is the Vol O-line that bad or is the aTm defense that good? This is brutal.
Wow, sorry Vols. Turnovers really adding up. Man.

Well if the sample size is Zippy's, City Pork, Perrain's and other restaurants on or near the Perkins Rd. overpass strip, then I'd say about half that.
