Let’s talk divorce parties?

Is this the most trashiest thing around?
A buddy of mine recently got divorced and a friend of ours wants to plan a ‘release party’ for him. Basically the equivalent of a bachelor party with all sorts of debachery. This is a good man that is in an unfortunate situation. He doesn’t want to ‘celebrate’ it.
Girl I work with said it’s common and went to a ‘divorce party’ for one of her friends last weekend.
What says the OT!!?

Have heard those kind of parties are common in trailer parks

I say it’s just an excuse to throw together all the habits that got you divorced in the first place into one big party.

Can we just replace the upvote/downvote buttons with “trashy”/“not trashy”

Your schtick is getting old

I think the only real question he has asked on this site is how to lose 30-40 pounds

This board's obsession with what other people do with their time is out of control.

I’d go beyond trashy to pathetic.

Depends on hot the woman is getting divorced

Eh.
If my bud gets out of a bad marriage, you bet your sweet arse I'm taking him to the nearest titty bar.
It's on the lower scale of trashy for me.
Then again, I'm from south Mississippi so

That has to be one of the trashiest things I've ever heard.

I’ve definitely heard of people taking trips after getting divorced. This sounds like the trailer park version of that

Losers doing loser things

It’s only allowed if you invite the kids to the party.
Even though it’s usually the kids’ faults, an invitation would make them feel like it isn’t.

For women its a celebration. For men it's a funeral.
