I consider flossing a gigantic fricking chore, so I love the WaterPik I have. It feels like it works just as well, if not better, but I have no empirical evidence for this.

Sonic Care toothbrush + Water Pik have cut my Dentist appointment times in half. The Water Pik can be messy and takes some getting used to, however.

That is really freaking gross.

I have one and give it my highest endorsement. It doesn't replace flossing though.

I've used one my whole life. The latest one I bought was a child's size one. You don't need a huge one with multiple attachments with a large water basin.
I had a spot in between my gum and back tooth that became infected. Basically it was a piece of food that worked its way in there. All the dentist did was wash it out with a stream of water. That's what WaterPiks do best. Flossing also removes plaque in between teeth which WaterPiks cannot do. It's best to do both.

Yes, truth

Don't waste money on portable knockoffs as your first one.

Start with an easy setting.
Increase daily until too much. Back down one.

The anti plaque stuff is great to add to water. Just a little.

Clean the water container.
Yep. Hot soapy water. Once a week at minimum.

And run peroxide once a month to clean out system.

If you're not already using a Sonicare toothbrush, start now.

Switched from that to Oral B and I am enjoying those results more, tbh.

Water systems, you get what you pay for. I had a $30 Walmart one, and it was useless compared to the WaterPik, which wasn't that much more.

It doesn't replace brushing either.

Here's your test case.

Eat salad and meat.
Floss.
Then use water pik.
I get $100 for every bit you miss. Take your time.

Water pik does gum health too.
Best

You can also get an attachment for the water pick that will let you cleanse your sinuses. Works much better than the regular neti pot since you actually have some force behind it. A coworker swears by it.

I know a guy that uses one to clean his ears. Just make sure to keep the heads separate.

I have two places on my lower jaw where I have 2 impacted wisdom teeth. Since I'm 52 having them cut out isn't a good idea
But sometimes I get pericoronitis which is only temporary but still sucks.

Perhaps a waterpic would be good for that. My dentist recommended one.

Because it doesn't.

If you have virtually no interproximal space between some of your teeth then a waterpik is going to do absolutely nothing. My fiancee is a dentist and I've asked her about these things a few years ago and for some people with certain conditions they are suitable but they don't replacing flossing.

I use one at like it, but my hygienist says it's not as good as flossing.

I’m on my second Oral B, first one lasted over 10 years. Was miserable without an electric TB. If a Waterpik is as good as flossing I would get one, I hate to floss but do it at least daily. I plan to go to my grave with all my teeth.

WaterPiks can’t remove dental plaque. They just remove food particles.
Buy a sonicare and floss.
