Sounds typical for liberal policies.

Claiming Atlanta is better than Chicago in the Summer is absurd.

A vote on which is better by neutral parties would not even be close. I have absolutely no stake in either city and have spent quite a lot of time in both in the Summer months and it is not a debate.

Chicago in the Summer is a world class vacation destination.

I mean isn't the entire point of this thread the fact you hate Illinois and all the taxes and other crap you have to deal with in Chicago?

First you bitch about it, now you're defending it as the most amazing city in the US.

Try to keep up.

Chicago politics IS state politics. Chicago metro is like 80% of the entire population of Illinois.

I wonder how much of that taxation would be eliminated if all of the do-nothing feel good lefty bullshite programs were removed?

I'm curious which of those other cities has each of the following

World class dining
World class concerts and entertainment
Street festivals every single weekend
Beautiful and bearable weather
Hundreds of awesome outdoor and rooftop drinking and eating options
Easily walkable or bikeable
A huge lakefront with miles of green space and miles of beaches (within a mile of downtown no less)
A lake that is beautiful and which you're able to swim in
Multiple summer sports teams and things like horse racing

I could go on, but most would get the point by now.

Jesus tapdancing Christ. It was in black and white, stop trying to twist what I meant to support what you couldn't comprehend or missed.

You keep saying Chicago is the most amazing city in the US, yet are looking to move to other locations because you don't like the laws and taxation imposed by said amazing city.

I mean that's pretty damn black and white.

Not really. I pointed out other cities that are better than Chicago, and he said they weren't. Yet based on his OP, doesn't sound like Chicago is all that great of a city if he's wanting to move to another one.

Your first comment

Seattle, Salt Lake City, San Francisco (outside the poop zone), Denver, Phoenix, Boston, NYC, and Atlanta are all better than Chicago.

was in reply to this

Not from May-September, and I say that with confidence. Chicago is my favorite city in the world for a few months out of the year. Unfortunately, it is a frozen wasteland the rest of the time, so I would never want to live there year-round.

As far as major cities go, Atlanta is mediocre year-round and hot as balls terrible in the summer.

San Fran and Seattle are cold and dreary.

Phoenix is like a blast furnace during the day, but can be a pretty cool place at night. However, it isn't anywhere near as convenient to get around as Chicago is with the L train. The same goes for Denver (which isn't far down the list from Chicago, as it is a great city in it's own right).

Salt Lake is much more boring than Chicago.

NYC is hot as balls in summer as well.

I don't know about Boston because I've never been, so I will withhold judgement.

All of this is true. Salt Lake is my favorite US city, but Chicago is amazing during the summer.

You know how I know you don’t know what you are talking about? May-September is probably the only time to go to Seattle. Basically Oct-April is the cold and dreary times. July in the PacNW might be the best place on the earth.
