What are scans going to do? He’s made minimal to no progress over the past three years. To qualify for acute inpatient rehab (at a place like Touro, TIRR, Shephard’s Center) you have to be able to tolerate 3 hours of therapy/day. By just reading your posts, it sounds like Dr. Amen is the lowest of the low when rating all of the characters, because he should no better. Nothing pisses me off more than snakeoil salesmen taking advantage of vulnerable/desperate people/patients.

You understand that the legal system isn’t social media right? Proving your case on an Internet forum isn’t going to matter to a judge or justices.

You seem to be putting a lot of faith in Dr. Amen.

I wouldn't care if recovery was 0% If it was my husband I would do everything in my power to do anything that could help because Dr's are just people and sometimes they are wrong. Dr's have diagnosed people as brain dead and the person makes a full recovery. The brain is very complex and still not fully understood. It is impossible for any Dr to say with 100% certainty of what is possible

You know what Alluv... I appreciate your passion. It's easy for us to see videos and assume/know the state of someone without being able to see the whole picture. On some level he is in a vegetative state, while I'm sure at other times he does respond more. I can see where your heart is... You want him to receive the care he deserves.

As someone who had a SO with a traumatic brain injury that at times seems like nothing could possibly help, we keep looking for answers, we keep getting second opinions, and we give people the help they deserve to recover.

Did this man want to die? No one knows that answer. But by the Grace of God he lived. For whatever reason or purpose that was, again... some of us will never know. Although I think your approach is being misunderstood and it's a bit aggressive... i've been there. When you're so close to a situation that lacks justice and when a human soul is involved... it's hard to see how anyone can even go about their day without that issue being addressed first. I hope you take the time to consider that your education to people in this story and how they receive what you have to say will be so critical of the way you present it and sometimes accepting they won't understand.

I encourage those of you who aren't in the exact situation to show empathy to this poster as they move through this tragedy. I hope your friend gets the help he needs. I hope you find peace with whatever happens. May his Mom have the strength to keep fighting. I hope the wife has a change of heart and decides no amount of money is worth the cost of someones life.
