I'll be honest, I think most people don't give a frick what they put up or leave up, etc. People who pass it everyday don't even notice it. Its politicians who make this shite an issue and they have their groups they can call on to make it an issue.
I saw it happen where I live. There was a confederate statue that was in an area that most people didn't even know it was there and if they did, they had no idea who it was. Campaign season was coming around the corner and the parish president (who is no longer the parish president) went tell the white councilmen he needed them to vote to remove the statue. He told them the blacks were threatening to riot over it. He then tells the black people "look what I did". He told the white people "it was out of my hands it was up to the council". It backfired because the white councilmen were being asked why did they vote for it by their people.
The black people were told he was telling the white people they would riot just to get them to vote for it so he could use it in his favor.
Thats all this shite is.
