Plane had Mexican registration

Apparently the pediatric patient was from Tijuana. Had been in Philly for "life saving medical treatment," and was returning home after the treatment was completed.

Pilot, co-pilot, doctor, EMT, patient, and patient's mom aboard.

Losing one on takeoff can be problematic according to a pilot here.

Obviously problematic, just coming into the info here. How long after takeoff?

His post was in this or the other thread. Something about the wings on a Lear versus a large passenger jet. They are more like a military plane and can stall easier?

Stall=loss of lift

Been reported they only got to 1600' so very shortly after takeoff.

Wonder if they got into an aerodynamic stall shortly after takeoff. Not enough time to recover.

MAX8 was an engine design flaw. This plane has been in service for 45 years.

I speculated/asked about this earlier in the thread and people treated me like I was half a fig. Though I did assume that the service was focused on wealthy foreigners, and it looks like these medical flights have charitable funding. Mexico obviously has some wealthy folks, but no one from Port Au Prince is chartering a jet without outside help.

Okay but why would he basically fall head first out of the sky? Even in dual engine flameout you can glide a little.
This screams flight control failure to me

fuel up spot

One of the first of many things done will be to quarantine the fuel truck until a check for contamination is preformed. Even checking to see if avgas may have been mistakenly been put in.

I was saying a fireball doesn’t rule out fuel starvation, just fuel exhaustion.

For the record, I think it most likely is a control surface issue and not a fuel systems issue.
