Can we resume talk here about the Harvey periscope when the car wash blew apart? That was crazy watching that night.

Is this when they kept driving down those little residential streets and couldn’t find a way through? Ended up parked up against the wall?

Yep. I spent an entire afternoon at work thinking I watched two dudes die live on the internet.

That was seriously crazy footage

Which one hit the islands hard then came on ground around Key West?
Possibly Irma? She ran right up Florida. She was over 100 and gusting 120 all the way up by Tampa. She was a cat 5 when she first hit.

Yeah it’s birds and bugs and dust and crap caught up in the eye

Too bad it’s a nighttime landfall because there would be some pretty wild eye videos from Lake Charles during this

2017 seems too long ago... but maybe. Was it Irma that destroyed the islands and sat over DR for 24 hours?

Why?
quote:

CAMERON PARISH, La. (AP) —At least 150 people refused to evacuate a coastal Louisiana parish that could be covered by ocean water as Hurricane Laura makes landfall, officials said.

Officers went door-to-door in Cameron Parish urging the roughly 7,000 residents to get out before Laura struck, and they all used social media and phone calls to warn people of the danger.

But Ashley Buller, assistant director of the parish Office of Emergency Preparedness, said officials knew of about 150 people who decided to stay put in structures ranging from seemingly safe elevated homes to recreational vehicles, which could easily be swept away by rushing storm surge.

“It’s a very sad situation,” Buller said in a telephone interview from Lake Charles, where parish officials relocated from an office closer to the coast in Cameron. “We did everything we could to encourage them to leave.”

Forecasters said Gulf waters could rise 20 feet along the coast of the low-lying parish without adding the height of waves, meaning the entire parish could be inundated.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said: “They’re thinking Cameron Parish is going to look like an extension of the Gulf of Mexico for a couple of days.”

I don't remember but it was that year. I have a buddy in Tampa with a huge house. He took in 8 people from Puerto Rico.

It was also when the rapper and the red cross took in money specially marked for Haiti and the DR. It never made it down there.

Damn. Anyway, I watched that live feed on Key West until it just went out. Woke up the next morning in sheer panic for those people and came straight to the OT for an update. The bar’s hurricane playlist was legit.

Here we go. I’m settled in ready to watch. I’ll go between this thread and my ring camera. If I catch anything note worthy I’ll share to this page.
