Not sure if this has been posted or not, but the hurricanetrack folks are trying to locate a box that had a pressure sensor that was placed on a utility pole in Cameron. Here's a youtube video showing where it was.

You would think the NG would be set up in more places than the civic center in lake Charles. The line to that place is ridiculous.

Balls they're setting up somewhere else as well -- I just can't remember where. I'll try to find out and post.
IF by chance you have FB, there is a page call Hurricane Laura Aftermath -- you can search National Guard. I'm still looking for specific spots for TODAY.
Can you remind me where you are?
"Care Help in Sulphur National Guard is handing out water and cleaning supplies and etc. Heard they will have Ice later today. Also at lunch will be passing out hot meals."

National Guard and Red Cross were at McMurry Park on Hazel in Sulphur yesterday distributing MREs, ice, and 16x20 tarps.
Remembering back to Rita, they were typically set up at WalMart or large shopping center locations like that. Around LCH, it appears power and disaster crews are utilizing shopping centers as staging areas for Laura though.

Lowe’s in Baton Rouge had about 10 generators - all unopened returns sitting by customer service. My guess is people who bought them in case they lost power and returned To the store when they didn’t.
Sizes ranged from 2200 watt inverters to 8700 starting watt Briggs. They also tons of gas cans and bottled water. Store wasn’t crowded at all.
Just wanted to pass along in the event anyone is heading west and needs supplies.

Which BR Lowe’s, please?

Gonzales lowes also had generators as recently as this past saturday.

Siegan Lane. But I would guess Airline would have the similar returns of generators. Hell, I bet Home Depot too.

Buddy of mine has three freezers full of spoiled meat. Does anyone know if there is an official place set up for him to go dump it? This is in the city of LC.

With a lot of returns likely happening in areas that were not impacted, you may be able to find generators at Harbor Freight in BR as well. The predator line is good bang for the buck.
Lafayette by large held onto power as well so you may be seeing the same returns happening at the Lafayette Lowes, Stine, and Home Depot.

Thanks LSUJML. None of the city phones are working right now. Maybe they'll put out some new information at the 4pm press conference.
The KPLCTV website says the sweet lake dumpsite is open. If it gets bad enough he'll have to drive down there.

Pretty close to what some drops were showing in the N eyewall over the water on approach.
Hope all of y'all in SWLA are holding up ok. It's a long road from here I know. My heart goes out to all of you.
