Jeff (?) said tide gage jumped up 5 feet in about 5 minutes.
Also that hundreds of seagulls are flying in the eye wall (basically trapped) and will be coming ashore with Laura.

It really is crazy how far we’ve come in terms of infrastructure in such a short time. Just this morning I was looking at some archives of wind speeds from Gustav and one station I followed had a final wind reading of 63 mph before everything went dark. Today we have 119 mph gusts and still have power in some areas.
