By the 10am update tomorrow we should have a lot more clarity on landfall location. Be ready if you are within 100 miles of either edge of the cone.

Not to scare anyone but this is serious from the Lake Charles NWS office...
STORM SURGE
- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Life-threatening storm surge possible
- Peak Storm Surge Inundation: The potential for 7-11 feet
above ground somewhere within surge prone areas
- Window of concern: Tuesday evening until Thursday afternoon
THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST
UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for storm
surge flooding greater than 9 feet above ground
- PLAN: Plan for extreme life-threatening storm surge
flooding greater than 9 feet above ground.
- PREPARE: Evacuation efforts should soon be brought to
completion before driving conditions become unsafe.
- ACT: Leave immediately if evacuation orders are given for
your area to avoid being cut off from emergency services or
needlessly risk lives.
- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Devastating to Catastrophic
- Widespread deep inundation, with storm surge flooding
greatly accentuated by powerful battering waves. Structural
damage to buildings, with many washing away. Damage greatly
compounded from considerable floating debris. Locations may
be uninhabitable for an extended period.
- Escape routes and secondary roads washed out or severely
flooded. Flood control systems and barriers may become
stressed or overtopped.
- Extreme beach erosion. New shoreline cuts possible.
- Massive damage to marinas, docks, and piers. Numerous small
craft broken away from moorings with many lifted onshore
and stranded.
Many more details in link below...advisory is very lengthy as it should be.

NWS Lake Charles @NWSLakeCharles
Good afternoon, everyone. NWS Lake Charles will be hosting a Facebook Live briefing at 4:30 PM this afternoon to discuss the latest track and expected impacts (including new storm surge estimates) for tropical storm Laura. We'll also answer your weather questions.

Brother works for Entergy and said they are anticipating ladfall to keep shifting east away from Lake Charles.

Did you see that guy give you the business a couple of hours ago?

Maybe Houston is where you should evacuate.

Possible 11 foot surge plus wave action will be brutal.

I might amend that to 100 miles outside of the east side of the cone, but yeah, it will be felt.
