Hate to break it to NOLA but this kind of mayor will always be the norm. There are too many thugs, criminals and useless people in New Orleans to ever come close to electing someone that would actually make that city wonderful. It’s not going to change no matter if Jesus Christ himself ran. They’d always pick a candidate full of corruption and whoever promises them everything. New Orleans is done.

Eh, I think this is different. Charbonnet would've been more of the same. LaToya is going to make the last 40 years look like a golden era of governance. I mean for frick's same she was running ads saying that she would speak "truth to power". That's a phrase that Gravy uses to say, "will stand up to whites".

Right there with you. When I left I was fairly nostalgic and missed it a little. Entertained ideas of coming back someday.
But when the political turns at the state, and local level in BR and NO....nope, I’m out.
I’d rather be in a city/state where even their frick ups are orders of magnitude better than a place where blantant corruption can be answered with a shrug, because its expected to happen.

There is a whole lot of fail on this thread. LaToya was absolutely the only choice in the runoff. Charbonnet was nothing more than a tool of the old school black political machine. LaToya loves economic development and improving the city. Please look at her donor list....it's not f-ing SJW's, it's the business community.
