Meh

People live different lives. I'm young and have no kids, so yeah I enjoy Nola more because it has more attractions that fit my wants.

If I had a wife and kids the Northshore instantly becomes more attractive than Nola.

New Orleans, 2010: Well, Mitch can’t be any worse than that corrupt idiot SJW Nagin.

New Orleans, 2017: Well, Cantrell cant be any worse than that corrupt idiot SJW Mitch.

New Orleans, 2024: Well, BLANK cant be any worse than that corrupt idiot SJW Cantrell.

And the cycle continues.

Obviously they are both shitty candidates and corrupt, but I’ve heard Charbonnet’s corruption is at a whole other level than Cantrell from people in the know. I voted for Bagneris fwiw.

As do I. That doesn't mean the Northshore isn't more attractive to do so.

I mean it's not even debatable as far as it being cheaper and safer.

I love NOLA. Ole boy was shitting on my hometown for kicks. frick him. New Orleans is a world class city in many ways, but to say crime, corruption on an Olympic level, and infrastructure issues at critical levels aren’t concerns is disingenuous. The candidates for mayor were lacking and Cantrell may prove to be a good choice. But let be honest, her past indicates she was part of the problem, not a solution. Just my .02

I'll give you a hint. A diphthong is not something you wear while you swim. Ask a french person how to pronounce Orleans. It might be different for you but far from wrong.

Your opinion and I’m not going to point out obvious reasons. Living in New Orleans is a privilege, everything else is Metairie. Who Dat.

This is what it has evolved into thanks to the morons in Metairie and Chalmette that tell people they're from “New Orlinz.”

The blue bloods down here still say “New All-ee-uns.”

Why? I have a spouse and child and we prefer NOLA to living on the Northshore despite all my family being across the lake.

What makes you say corrupt? I like how she basically saved Broadmoor after the storm.

She made groceries with your tax dollars for things including alcohol and other dubious expenses.

yes. without Latoya Cantrell no one would've moved back to Broadmoor. The rest of the city would've come back, but not Broadmoor. Not without Latoya.

Ditto. I am raising three kids in New Orleans. Grew up on the Northshore and have no interest in moving back to hang out with people from my high school years that never flew the coup. I love being able to swing by City/Audubon park on the way home from picking them up from school. I can't imagine spending 2 hours in my car 5 days a week driving across that bridge. Also, almost everyone I know with kids on the Northshore sends them to private school just like you have to do here on the Southshore.
