Toya is going to run again and win a second term. Historically it’s a pretty much a given for an incumbent mayor in this city. She sucks, no doubt, but there are a lot more people in this city that approve with what’s she doing than not.

The more I see the public reaction the more I think she will get re-elected.

I have several posts bookmarked for those that see no way possible for her go be re-elected.

Torres is most likely going to put his money and machine behind her again.

Only solace is that she has 10 more months and she can't stay out of her own way. Hard Rock will be down and the developer will be trying to move forward by then.

I always thought Torres would be an interesting wildcard that can get the black vote here. He’s about as corrupt as they come but all he needs to do is promote more service industry jobs and mixed income housing that’s not in the East. Maybe after latoyas second term. Man, this city is so fricked but it’s still awesome.

I would vote for Torres. He is corrupt/petty vindictive, but not necessarily for just his own benefit. He is upfront with his corruption. Plus he really loves the city and has no problem being public about shite.

No way he gives up his jetset life and freedom to deal with this bullshite.

I figured Biden would have tapped Mitch for some position by now.

No doubt

Doesn’t he own a resort in the Bahamas?

Dude with that kind of money and lifestyle does not want to play mayor.

He built one up, but I think he sold it.

Not sure if the new place he has there is just a personal escape or a new venture.

The last time an incumbent mayor wasn’t re-elected was Arthur J. O’Keefe, who resigned 3 years into his first term for health reasons in 1929.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I've seen several internal polls for this last cycle and her approval numbers are sky high. I doubt she even draws a serious challenger.

She's literally going to run uncontested next year. Plus, nobody wants to take over that shitshow. She has overwhelmingly more money for campaigning.

With Dominion software, (no one voted her in), A recall might be the only way.

How does a Californian infiltrate the New Orleans click and become mayor. She/He was sent here by the Dem. Party for the Federal Aid from Hurricanes, Port criminal deeds and Decadence.

It's the height of cuckdom to move out of NO and then bitch about our politics. If you really care, move back and vote against her yourself.

Try to think like one of her voters. What has changed for you since the pandemic?

(1) have to use the drive through for breakfast lunch and dinner (annoying at best)
(2) got a stimulus check even though you don’t work or contribute to society
(3) less cops trying to arrest you for making your ends.

What else has changed for a Latoya voter?
