They are Chechen death squad to hunt specific Ukrainian officials. Each soldier was reportedly given a special 'deck of cards' with Ukrainian officials' photos and descriptions on them, a Moscow Telegram channel with links to the security establishment reported.

My theory is that he annexes in Eastern and Southern Ukraine and installs a puppet for the rest.

Were we the first one to start this? Seems like a solid tactic, since troops like To play cards and this would familiarize them with high value targets

I think he likely just wants to create another Belarus. Ukraine ends up in the CSTO under puppet govt. Avoids another bordering nation becoming a NATO member. Increased access to Black Sea via cooperation.

Me too. Would be crazy to see them flip in solidarity with the Ukrainians against Moscow and reigniting the Chechen war for independence.

I saw something earlier that said Chechens were fighting on both sides. Volunteers on the Uke's side.
