If you haven't read it yet, go find the book "The First War of Physics".

Phenomenal book about the race for the Atomic Bomb and the fear and struggle that the physicists making the discoveries faced.

REads like a Crichton Thriller. One of the best history books I've ever read.

germany had no hope in actually invading the british island. they had no true capability to attempt an amphibious invasion of that scale

but its an interesting thought exercise on how britain would have come out of WW2 if america didnt get involved. they go through some real tough years as germany continues to choke them off but they dont sink enough ships to actually knock them out of the war. russia eventually beats germany and becomes the true dominant european power in the post war world order

thats when it becomes interesting as that would have probably thrown the cold war balance out of whack and who knows how that goes for the UK

Not gauranteed.


At best, probably a stalemate, and Hitler allows the Soviets to have the original countries requested in their previous alliance.


Without the threat of the US and UK invading, which not would have happened if the US stays out of it, then Hitler can focus almost his entire military on the eastern front, and at least accomplish a ceasefire.


But having the US enter the war and help take Africa, then Italy, and then start amassing in Britain, Hitler was forced to divide his forces. The Soviets were so far behind in technology and tactics, but had such massive numbers of human fodder to throw at the Germans, that they were able to overcome the Germans. But that was after the Germans had to start fortifying the Western Front against an imminent invasion from that "Stubborn, little Island".

If Hitler can keep his focus on the East, eventually he would have defeated the Soviets.

There must be a scene where the Jewish scientists are discussing their revulsion fo having to work with them, and one of the scientists tells them:

"Yes, it does turn my stomach when I think of what they've done. But it also warms my heart to know that they are helping us to evaporate their own kind. Justifiable Irony, if you ask me."


And it should be a musical. In the vein of Little Shop of Horrors.
