Ukraine: Ukrainian forces captured another T-72A tank, seen in this drone image. The UA side claims that the driver was the sole member of his tank crew left & was pursuaded to surrender after receiving pysops SMS messages- this cannot be verified. Tank is previously unseen.
The fact that Russia is sending non modernized T72s into Ukraine is puzzling. These are the same type of T72s that the USA destroyed so easily in 1991. They also have very little or no protection from ATGMs. Even the old Soviet RPGs the Ukrainians have can take these out. Makes one wonder if Russia is running out of modern or modernized tanks or if they just trying to over power Ukraine with numbers?

Please take your low tier shitposting back to 4chan or wherever you came from.
I believe I speak for at least a few when I say that I’d like to see some amount of relevant posts in this thread.

Historically, this is Russia’s schtick. Raw numbers and excessive brutality, with a sprinkling of advanced weapons strikes to make for intimidating optics. The ends always justify the means

At this point I am really thinking they are just trying to clear inventory so they don't have to maintain any of this old shite anymore. That tank is 4 generations old.

Lot of smoke here but still unconfirmed. Would be a huge deal because Russia has some elite guys in this area.
After a month of combat, I think it’s safe to say that Ukrainian spetnaz are better than Russian spetnaz.
Also if your post is true and the circled area is accurate. The Ukies have cut off the only road and rail access to the Russian forces west of Kyiv. Those Russian troops would be trapped in the Kyiv suburbs with only a nature preserve bordering the reservoir north of Kyiv as there way of escaping encirclement. I have been to that nature preserve before and it’s rugged and overgrown. I would not want to be one of the poor conscripts trying to make my way through through it in full military gear with a pissed off enemy shooting at them.

Am I wrong to think that out of all the sanctions, this one is going to be absolutely brutal for Russia?
Maersk to completely leave Russia and sell all Russian assets

The world is destroying itself over a small regional conflict that would be over by now if it had been left alone.

NEXTA @nexta_tv #Russia's only tank manufacturer, Uralvagonzavod, has stopped its production. The main reason for this is a lack of component parts.
Pro-Ukraine source so TIFWIW, but they're usually pretty accurate.

This is an old school NATO v Russia dick measuring contest and Mr. Putin has come up short.
But I see what he was seeing, he walked right in to Crimea and nothing happened so why not roll over Ukraine get a friendly govt in there and call it a day.

Russias overall command structure makes fighting a complex, multi-front war extremely difficult. To fight a war like this you need strong NCO structure who has the knowledge and freedom to make quick decisions based on real time info… Russia can’t do it.

Pretty much. In the Soviet army NCOs were conscripts. They'd take a few guys who seemed a little smarter than the rest, give them a couple weeks extra training and pin stripes on them. They'd serve their standard two year enlistment and the process would start all over with the next batch. Supposedly the army is more professional now but as it turns out, not so much.
Traditionally, the officers consider enlisted men to be children incapable of independent thought and action, who need a strong whip hand to keep them in line. And the government elites see the armed forces as a potential rival, so there's a disencentive to actually have a strong, well functioning military.

It’s a legacy of the Tsarist period, and probably has to do with the social structure in Russia. You had a small aristocracy that provided the officers, leading massive peasant levies.

How do you think we got to the point where we were ok with shutting down our businesses for months on end over Covid? If they had told us what they were actually going to do instead “15 Days to Slow the Spread” there would have been mass riots immediately.
Amen. All of this shite happened under Trump. As we know when something happens under a president its that president's fault right?
Or does it all depend on whether people like that president or not? Im sure what you mentioned above was not Trump's fault.. But anything bad that happens under Biden is 100% his fault.
