We should respond to bull shite by inviting the Pakistanis to Washington for a summit to discuss selling them billions dollars worth of advanced weapons and state of the art gps targeting systems for their nukes etc.
Business is war but so is war.

One problem with that. The Pakistanis would cut our throat faster than India. Pakistan is major, major allies with the Chicoms. Their current PM maybe in some current trouble politically though. The US still buys access to Pakistan with aid but the Pakistani government cannot be trusted.
I think that India just made a huge arms deal with Russia. India has a long history with Russia. Both them and the Chicoms are going to get Russian oil at major discount rates now. The US nor Europe has sanctioned Russian oil yet. I don't think it will happen, but if you wanted to really strangle Putin that would help. China and India would probably still buy it at major discount prices even if it were sanctioned. Then what are you going to do about that?

If the US.and Europe were really serious about taking out Putin you would see the US ramp up production in order to supply Europe's needs after they totally sanction Putin's oil. He would still sell some at discount rates but $20 and $30 oil is a death blow to Putin's plans. This along with the other sanctions would destroy Russia's economy. IMO you won't see it because Biden is sold out to the radical left regarding energy policy. He also is still using Putin and the Russians to broker this deal with Iran. Terrible, terrible deal. If you don't believe me, just read the details when it comes out. Plus as of right now, Merkels policies have left Germany/Europe dependent on Russian oil. Big, big mistake. Merkel, the East German communist wanted nothing more than to be big pals with Russia. They are beginning to realize that mistake now. They can't get totally off for awhile.

Rumors starting to circulate that Putins big stadium speech was just another green screen event

I saw a BBC reporter that was reporting from the scene and he had interviewed people that were attending the event.

IMO you would probably be shocked at the Russian peoples support of this. Many people on the ground in Eastern Europe are saying the same. The Russians are brainwashed and are fed constant propaganda and lies. They have no clue what the truth is.

WWII means much more to Russians than it probably does to the west. They remember it because of the number of Soviet deaths. Putin knows that. He has sold that Ukraine was going to invade or attack Russia just as the Nazis/Fascists did in WWII. He has sold that Ukraine is full of Nazis and its government is ran by Nazis and his special operation had to take place to eliminate the threat from Ukraine. The Russians believe that they are in Ukraine to fight Nazis.

This is a good BBC piece

It goes into some history and explains why the journalist, who has been covering this region for a long time, thinks this moment could represent a new paradigm shift.
quote:

1789: French Revolution. Monarchy overthrown, republic founded
1815: Congress of Vienna redraws map of Europe, restores balance of power and ushers in decades of peace after the upheaval of the Napoleonic wars
1848: A wave of liberal and democratic revolutions across Europe
1919: Treaty of Versailles. New independent sovereign nation states replace old multi-national empires
1945: Yalta - great powers agree to partition Europe into Western and Soviet "spheres of influence". Iron Curtain falls across the continent
1989: Democratic revolutions in Soviet-dominated Eastern Europe tear down the Iron Curtain. The Soviet Union collapses two years later. Vladimir Putin calls this the "greatest catastrophe of the 20th Century"
quote:

First, he believed the West was in chronic decline, weakened by internal division and ideological rancour. The election of Donald Trump and Brexit he saw as proof of this. The rise of right-wing authoritarian governments in Poland and Hungary was further evidence of the disintegration of liberal values and institutions. The US's humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan was proof of a waning power withdrawing from the world stage.
Second, he misread what was happening on his borders. He refused to believe that a series of democratic uprisings in former Soviet Republics - Georgia (2003), Ukraine (2004-5) and Kyrgyzstan (2005) - could possibly be authentic expressions of the popular will. Because each was aimed at removing corrupt and unpopular pro-Moscow governments, it seemed self-evident to the Kremlin that these were the work of foreign intelligence agencies, the Americans and the British in particular - Western imperialism's forward march into territory that was rightfully and historically Russia's.
Third, he has failed to understand his own armed forces. It is clear now that he expected this "special military operation" to be over in a few days.

Yes we have seen many examples of this. In most cases, the MSM are nothing but partisan liars. People just believe what they are told without doing any research for themselves. That is dangerous. Journalism is dead. Big Tech has censored free speech also. Social media platforms are used as garbage dens.

I am not too stupid nor naive to know what Putin is. He is a war criminal thug. I do not base my beliefs on what some news agency tells me. I go and try to find facts. Why don't you give me the specific details of the propaganda that I have fallen for regarding Ukraine. I have listed nothing but facts regarding Putin in this thread. Why don't you try doing the same? Why is he such a good guy?

I will also let you know that I have seen some of the most outlandish false Russian propaganda on the PB since this has started. Lies, opinions without facts, absolute rejection or denial of facts, absolute hypocrisy in some cases. I am as right wing as you will find, but I am not going to align myself with a war criminal thug.

In other news, today Russian sources (propaganda) are admitting to a strategic shift in response to high casualties and limited battlefield successes. It would appear their order of battle is being altered in response.

quote:

The second phase of the military operation has begun. Russia first used hypersonic missile "Daggers" and began to destroy entire brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, now the fighting will be tougher At today's briefing of the Ministry of Defense, information was announced about the use of the Bastion and Dagger complexes as part of a special military operation. This is the first officially confirmed use of these types of weapons in a real conflict. This fact, as well as the emerging information about the successful use of cruise missiles against the mercenary base near Lvov and the location of the 79th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Nikolaev, suggests that Russia, with a high degree of probability, has begun the second phase of the NMD. And now, unlike the first stage, the conduct of hostilities is built not on the classical concept of a large-scale offensive, but on the principles of “new generation” armed conflicts, when, instead of a ground offensive, priority is given to the use of long-range precision weapons and mobile special-purpose sabotage groups. Such an approach, although it will require more time for the complete demilitarization of Ukraine, will significantly reduce the possible losses of regular ground formations of the RF Armed Forces. Thus, the military operation is increasingly beginning to look like a tough modern war by all the rules, which greatly frightens the Ukrainian leadership, which is increasingly turning to NATO with a request to create a no-fly zone. However, predictably, there is no talk of any no-fly zone.

Many on the PB in the last three weeks and you know it. The ones that haven't said it outright always start with: Putin is bad, but... or Putin is a killer, but.....

How about those facts? Back up your argument. Try and defend what is happening in Ukraine.

Why didn’t Russia use its hypersonic and high precision weapons at the onset of the war?

Perhaps it’s a sign that China did not give Russia additional weapons? But that just me guessing and I am very confused why Russia is even announcing this.
