This is democracy in action. The government declared the building was to be seized as it is owned by one of the sanctioned oligarchs, and the people support this declaration but the officials haven't gotten around to actually doing it yet because Oligarchs have them all bought up so these activists are simply enacting the will of the government and the people.

But why? This is a regional conflict involving two non-NATO members. Why do we need to force ourselves into this and require other non-factor countries to force themselves into it as well?

And lets be clear, the Russians have presented the US and the Eu with an opportunity to set them back decades, with the level of GDP they can put to the military their military may never recover.
The Russians, not us, have taken themselves out of the big 3. And we arent taking our foot off their neck, this opportunity may never come back around.

We are using soft power (lots of military aid, sanctions and money) to bleed the Russians dry militarily and economically. And its working AND not one dead American so far.
