the Germans abandon their constitution to send weapons those are earth shattering moves. Behind the scenes they are preparing for war.
Germans are really good at it btw.
Their air force had 15 combat ready planes in 2019.
Have they hit two dozen yet?

Aka the single most absurd take on the planet. There was not a single weapon Hitler was sitting on that he didn't/wouldn't have used.

Do we consider Belarus to be playing the role of Vichy France in this scenario?

Meanwhile the fricking Chinese are getting ready to bail Russia out. If we let this happen the odds of WW3 starting soon go up 500% at least.
We need to threaten to boycott everything made there now, and by we I mean the free world.
no they fricking arent. its a no win situation for china if they do that and they know that. articles coming out explaining what is happening and why they shouldnt back russia all over in china. those are plant articles, not liek they have free press.

Germans are really good at it btw. They aren’t going to just blow this off anytime soon. We aren’t going back to normal anytime soon.
no the germans are not that good at it. they have some mythical reputation when it isnt deserved. multiple blunders over and over again right after uk and france declared war on them allowed them to take france. only 1 german general even thought they had a chance to win and his plan was the fake out to the north and blitzkreig to the south. it worked because the french ignored all of thier recon and intellegence due to old ways.
and the germans have less than 20 combat ready planes, they dont have the industrial might they once had and have no way of catching up. their military is as laughable as the russians.

Well, except chemical weapons. Nazis invented sarin gas.

quote:I agree. Putin has been shown to be weak and vulnerable, certainly not someone the Chinese choose to support. They will see their opportunity as (best case) controlling the selection of a new Russian leadership, or alternatively, guiding his replacement towards their viewpoint, looking to China as an economic protector during the post-sanction reset. Either way, Russia's days as a major power are over.
Their ultimate goal is to come out of this strong in a way that helps them - there is not a reality where they can throw enough assets, manpower, or intelligence at Russia to pull them out of this mess. They can, however be position themselves to have a strong say about how Russia gets handled once this is over. I cannot help but think that is what they are most focused on.

As of now they aren't. If anything they've been quietly putting a little distance between themselves and Putin.
With the crash of the Ruple Russia might not even be able to afford Chinese weapons.
Also consider that China is still going with a "Covid-zero" approach and dealing with an active outbreak. They are going to be very hesitant to do any of the International travel, or even letting the Russians in, that would be needed to actually support the act of transferring equipment.

We are eventually going to see Russians firing on unarmed protesters in one of these occupied cities. When that happens, don't be surprised when the "NATO must do something!" ramps up to a fever pitch.
Video at the link shows protesters getting handsy with some Russian troops.

Melitopol continues to fight back against occupation and the kidnapping of its mayor. Things likely to take a dark turn but I wouldn’t want to be one of these Russian soldiers. LINK

The pause has coincided with a ramp up in bombings. Probably a little of both, stall and strategy.

Russia’s unprovoked war on Ukraine is now entering its third week and the much-anticipated fall of Kyiv, estimated by various Western officials last month to be likely within the space of about 72 hours, has not yet occurred. Nor has Russia managed to sack any major population center. The one city it “holds,” the provincial capital of Kherson, is restive: Ukrainians turn out daily to protest their armed occupiers, and now fresh reports are trickling in of mass arrests of civilians and anyone thought to have been associated with Ukrainian authorities.
One country in Europe has been bolder in making projections that this war will not end in Putin’s favor: Estonia, for which Russia has historically been the overriding national security and military preoccupation at all levels of government. On Feb. 28, Mikk Marran, the head of Välisluureamet, Estonia’s foreign intelligence service, told New Lines that he didn’t believe Putin could “keep up an intensive war for more than two months” and that ultimately “Russia will not win this war.”
A senior Estonian analyst with years of experience tracking Russia’s military affairs concurs with that assessment but doesn’t even think it’ll take another two months to bear fruit — it already is doing so.
As this source asked to remain anonymous, we will refer to him as “Karl.”
“If Russia does not achieve a remarkable advance by the end of this week, it is difficult to see how [the advance] should come at all,” Karl said late this week.
