Massive Overnight Attack Should Push Putin to Accept Air Ceasefire, Kyiv Says
An unprecedented drone attack hit Moscow ahead of Saudi talks, with Russia’s Defense Ministry claiming it shot down 337 UAVs across the country.
by Kyiv Post | Mar. 11, 2025, 12:37 pm
Ukraine said Tuesday the drone attack launched on the Moscow region overnight should encourage Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept an aerial ceasefire proposed by Kyiv.
“The largest drone attack in history was carried out on Moscow and the Moscow region,” said Andriy Kovalenko, a national security council official responsible for countering disinformation.
“This is an additional signal to Putin that he should also be interested in a ceasefire in the air,” he added.

New Intel Shows Russian Officials Believe Trump Has Already Agreed to Kremlin’s ‘Peace Plan’ to End War in Ukraine
Kyiv Post exclusive: The Trump White House is moving toward accepting key Russian demands, emboldening the Kremlin as it seeks to undermine Zelensky and shape the war’s end on Moscow’s terms
.
The White House is rapidly moving toward accepting key Russian demands to end the war in Ukraine, including by backing the Kremlin’s four-point “peace plan” – undercutting Kyiv’s position – and by pushing a global narrative that calls for the replacement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky among other pro-Russian actions, according to interviews with multiple senior Ukrainian officials and previously unreported documents reviewed by Kyiv Post.
The documents suggest that Washington has grown more receptive to the Kremlin’s narrative on the origins of the war – one that Moscow is now aggressively promoting to Western audiences, say sources. This narrative claims that NATO expansion and alleged discrimination against Russian speakers in Ukraine were key triggers for the conflict, despite these claims having been repeatedly debunked since Russia first used them to justify its 2014 invasion of Crimea.
Russia’s four-point “peace plan”
Terminating Western military support
Recognizing Russian-controlled territories
Reinstating the prominence of Russian culture, language, and church
Returning to the terms of the Istanbul Protocol Draft Agreement
Stepping up efforts to oust Zelensky
The Kremlin has ramped up an aggressive disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting Zelensky, sources say, by portraying him as an impediment to ending the war.
“Russia is trying to exploit tensions between the teams of the US and Ukrainian presidents to push the ‘Istanbul theses’ as demands on Ukraine for a possible cessation of hostilities and future peace agreements,” a senior Ukrainian government official told Kyiv Post.
Increasingly, Russian media has been directed to push narratives questioning Zelensky’s legitimacy, one source said, in an effort to spread the idea that he is clinging to power while obstructing a negotiated settlement.
The ongoing campaign, which is primarily targeting US audiences, seeks to erode American political and public support for Ukraine and includes narratives that Trump appears to have parroted several times in Oval Office addresses during the past month.

To mediate a dispute you have to talk to both parties. You can’t talk to just one. The so called peace talks have been a joke really.

Look, nothing's going to come of these meetings in Saudi Arabia. It isn't a negotiation, it's just another level of pressure on Ukraine followed by more propaganda directed at blaming and isolating Kyiv for its failure. The Ukrainians know that, they're just there to show the world that they will cooperate in an offered peace process, no matter how rigged it is.
The only thing that has changed in either party's position is Ukraine's 300+ drone attack on Moscow last night. If that continues, the pressure will be removed from Kyiv and placed on Putin and his lap dog, the traitor.

Trump only negotiates with the side he determines to be stronger (the winner) in anything... it's a character flaw.
