I also don't care for the Poland middleman plane deal. Have Poland send the shite to Ukraine if they want and deem it appropriate and worth the risk. Do not drag us into it.

Something fishy going on with this poland plane deal. On again off again and each time it’s on the reported details make no sense lol

Have you heard of Polish Roulette?
It's just like Russian Roulette but you use an automatic.

Makes sense for the Poles.

If Poland sees itself getting dragged in anyway, now's the time to be proactive. Those Russian SSM's that turned up in Belarus today may have been the gamechanger. Russia doesn't need them to hit anything in Ukraine.

I hope the US would tell them to pound sand on that one. If they want them in Ukraine so bad you figure it out.

Yeah, the Poles have a lot to smile about if Ukraine keeps resisting. I can see why they would want planes replaced, but no need for the US to be a middle man for a transfer.

Agree. Either that or too many leaders are shooting off at the mouth quick to try to force hands and project something that’s not entirely true/settled.

I thought the entire purpose of the plane swap was for plausible hands-off-ness by the US. As in, Poland give planes to Ukraine knowing without an official agreement the US will upgrade Poland's fleet

I saw that earlier. Also saw some pictures of a group of vehicles massing in a convoy in Belarus awfully damn close to the Polish border.
I'm sure they're watching anxiously, but I think all that stuff is probably gonna push due south and try to make inroads in western Ukraine to slow down the flow of weapons to the Ukrainian forces. It would be absolute insanity to attack Poland and trigger Article 5.

Unpossible!
Belarus said they were staying out of it. Then, they said they were jumping into it. Then, they said they were staying out of it. Then, they said they were all the way in. Then, they said they were staying out of it. Then......

Blinken is pushing for the planes to be sent to Ukraine and Poland doesn't want the responsibility.
"Drag us into it."

Yeah, I don't understand the flip-flopping on the part of Belarus. Lukashenko is aware that Belarus was used to launch a large part of the invasion right?
Past that point, you can't just throw your hands up and be like "See, we are NOT involved in any way!" Well, not now, maybe, but you served as a jump-off point for the whole damn thing.

My point stands. If Poland wants to send the planes, let them. If we want to try to sway them to do it, fine. But do not drag us into the ultimate decision.
You act like diplomatic pressure doesn't play a factor in everything.

I don't think there is any doubt Poland sees this as an awesome way to upgrade whilst screwing Russia, a favorite pastime.
But we have the leverage here to stick them with the riskier end, and it's not like aggression toward Poland doesn't drag us in.

About $3.50.

OweO……you’re the great unifier. Everyone can agree you’re a moron.
Ukraine alone can't sustain and yes there are a lot of resources coming in from the west, but at some point, the longer it goes on it might require more than just countries providing resources.
Without help Russia has a military with $70B annual budget. Ukraine's military is $3.4B annual budget.
So to truly answer the question you need to know if the western countries providing resources has a limit. How far are they willing to go to help Ukraine?
