Lex friedman "fricking" dubbed it because his main audience is americans via audio. No one is listening to that in Ukrainian and russian.
In the first 30 seconds, he explains how to listen to it in any format you want, and goes through why they were switching languages.
Such disingenuous bullshite. Or just an influencer doing their job.....hmmmm

Wanted to do the interview in Russian. Both languages that he and Zelensky speak fluently. It does not bother me because I do not speak Ukrainian or Russian. It does show this interview was just a propaganda piece if you are not doing it in your native language

They have an entire conversation about what languages they speak and what they will speak at the very beginning of the interview. You can listen if your curious, and since you don't speak russian(lol) or ukranian, you'll be happy to know they dubbed it in English for you.

You think I would waste my time listening to Zelensky?
You still have not addressed Lex Fridman wanting to do the interview in Russian and Zelensky refused.

Again, you can listen to their discussion on the matter in the podcast. Lex heard his point and was happy to proceed with translation.
Or don't listen as you said you won't, i don't care what you do.
Youre just here to spam apparently.

Wasn’t there a block function for users at one point? I don’t see anything like that now

Yeah I’m definitely not for silencing people but John Barron is destroying the thread with spam.

Never more obvious than this interview how naive Lex is.

I watched the Lex Friedman interview with Zelensky. When asked why Trump won in a big way, Zelensky responded that Trump is strong and Kamala Harris and Biden are/were weak. Dementia Joe and Cackles will love that.
Zelensky admits what some of us were stating for years. I imagine Zelensky's polling numbers will drop on the OT Ukraine thread for some.
Zelensky also talked about corruption. He brought up a number of 177 billion that they were promised and he said that they had received about half of that. He asked where the other half was and then brought up examples of western companies charging large transport fees and stated that certain people make alot of money off of war.
I wonder if the Big Guy got his 10%?

ISW Update Jan 5
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian forces resumed offensive operations in at least three areas within the Ukrainian salient in Kursk Oblast and made tactical advances on January 5.
Russian forces also advanced southeast of Sudzha and counterattacked against intensified Ukrainian attacks southeast of Korenevo and north of Sudzha on January 5.
Russian sources expressed concern about the Russian military's ability to react to Ukraine's ongoing combined arms efforts to integrate electronic warfare (EW) and long-range strike capabilities with ground operations.
Russian forces recently advanced east of Pokrovsk amid renewed offensive operations in the area likely aimed at supporting the envelopment of Pokrovsk from the northeast.
The recent intensification in the Russian 41st CAA's area of responsibility east of Pokrovsk indicates that the Russian military command is still considering the envelopment of Pokrovsk as one of their key operational objectives in this area.
Russian forces may also be exploiting comparatively weaker Ukrainian defensive positions further east and south of Pokrovsk as part of an ongoing effort to seize any territory, regardless of such territory’s relative tactical insignificance.
Elements of the Russian 5th Motorized Rifle Brigade (51st CAA, formerly 1st Donetsk People's Republic Army Corps) are reportedly split between the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions — Russia's two most prioritized sectors of the frontline.
Russian forces recently advanced near Borova, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced in the Kursk salient and regained lost positions near Chasiv Yar.

Zelenskyy: Budapest Memorandum guarantors didn't give a f**k about Ukraine
KATERYNA TYSHCHENKO — Sunday, 5 January 2025, 22:0
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasised that Ukraine must have reliable security guarantees to end the war, not just a piece of paper, because the guarantors of the Budapest Memorandum "didn’t give a f**k" about Ukraine.
Source: Zelenskyy in an interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman
Quote: "The Budapest Memorandum included security guarantees for Ukraine. At first, three, the most important security guarantors for Ukraine: strategic friends and partners of Ukraine – the US, Russia, Britain. France and China joined. Five states in total...
We now understand that this is not a guarantee of security. Because on the one hand, these are security guarantees, but there was an English word, as far as I understand, ‘assurance’.
These are the largest states, the nuclear five. Now we just need to find these people and we just need to put in jail all of those who, frankly, invented all this…
After occupying part of our Donbas and Crimea, Ukraine sent diplomats three times. We sent letters to all security guarantors, to all members of the Budapest Memorandum. What was written on the piece of paper? Consultations. Ukraine holds consultations if its territorial integrity is violated. And everyone should be in consultation. Everyone must come. Everyone must meet urgently – USA, Britain, Russia. France, China.
Did anyone come, you ask? No. Did anyone reply to these letters, official letters? Did anyone conduct consultations? No. And why not? They didn't give a f**k. This is understandable in Russian, right? That as Russia didn't give a damn, neither did all the other security guarantors of the Budapest Memorandum. None of them gave a damn about this country, these people, these security guarantees."
Details: Zelenskyy noted that he has discussed the Budapest Memorandum with US President-elect Donald Trump, saying, "We haven't finished this conversation yet; we’ll continue it."
He added that in February 2022, after the full-scale war began, letters were again sent to request consultations, but "no one answered".
Quote: "The question is simple about Budapest. Can we trust this? No. Whichever country out of these five sat at the negotiating table – just a piece of paper: ‘Believe me, we will save you.’"
The president described the security guarantees for Ukraine as a "train with waste paper", with the second car being the Minsk agreements.
Quote: "The United States of America was no longer there. I understand that Obama was here at the time. I think they were simply not interested in what happened to Ukraine and where it was in general, where it was located..."
More details: Zelenskyy also accused former German Chancellor Angela Merkel of forcing others not to give Ukraine a NATO invitation at the 2008 Bucharest summit when even US President George W. Bush supported such a decision.

This Lex interview proves that Lex is naive as a small child. Zelensky is impressive and wasn't fond of the bullshitters in the Biden Admin or the don't care Obama admin.

My sauce(s) in Ukraine say that one of the reasons why the Ukrainian people are discontented with him is because he believed Biden and Macron and Schlotz’s promises for too long even though they kept under delivering. Ukrainian artillery shell production could have started months earlier than it actually started but Zelensky didn’t devote enough resources to it because he believed that the USA and the EU would keep them with plenty of shells.
