Ah yes.
Such an interesting, solidly founded, and intellectually well-versed take, and so nicely suited to this thread, btw.
Well done!

I'll just post this without further comment:

Russian forces execute five Ukrainian prisoners – Ukraine's human rights commissioner

Roman Petrenko — Sunday, 22 December 2024, 13:18

Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine's Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, has reacted to a video showing Russian soldiers executing five captured Ukrainian defenders.

Source: Lubinets on Telegram

Details: Lubinets examined the video showing the killing of Ukrainian POWs.

The official said he would report this incident to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Lubinets noted that the video had been provided by the 110th Marko Bezruchko Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Quote from Lubinets: "Russian war criminals who are executing Ukrainian prisoners of war must be brought before an international tribunal and face the most severe punishment prescribed by law!"

North Korea Likely Transferred KN-15 Missile Systems to Russia

This is reported by Militarnyi with reference to a video posted on the Telegram channel “Tanks. History and Modernity. Btvt.info”, hosted by armored vehicles researcher Andriy Tarasenko.

This missile system is a medium-range ballistic missile carrier.

The published video, allegedly filmed in the Tyumen region, shows a train with freight cars, platforms with excavators, and ten Koksan self-propelled artillery systems.

But the most mysterious cargo is five tracked vehicles with a cylindrical top:

Due to the quality of the video, it is difficult to say what kind of vehicles these are, but when compared to photos of North Korean missile systems available online, there is a striking resemblance to Pukguksong-2:

The maximum range of a ballistic missile from the Pukguksong-2 complex is not known. Western analysts put it at about 2,000 kilometers.

Russia is becoming more dependent on N Korea and Iran to keep their war machine going. Think about that.

Sudan refuses to host Russian naval base

Moscow Times

quote:

The construction of a Russian naval base on the Red Sea coast in Port Sudan has been discussed since 2019, when the countries signed a corresponding agreement. But then a civil war broke out in the country, and the agreement was never ratified. Russia initially helped the rebel movement, the Rapid Support Force (RSF), through the Wagner PMC, but then began supporting government troops.

In February 2024, Russian Ambassador Andrei Chernovol announced that construction of the base was being postponed indefinitely.

Even as fighting continues, including in the capital Khartoum, Russia and Iran have been in talks with the government army in recent months about building military bases in Port Sudan, two Sudanese intelligence officials and four Western officials told Bloomberg. The talks are especially important because Russia risks losing its naval and air bases in Syria, cutting off its bridge to Africa, and because Iran has been weakened by Israeli attacks on its military installations and the Hezbollah group it backs in Lebanon.

To reach an agreement on building a naval base, Russia even offered the local authorities a sophisticated S-400 air defense missile system, according to a Sudanese intelligence official. Sudan, however, rejected the offer, fearing it could provoke a negative reaction from the United States and other Western powers, the official and two U.S. officials said.

Over on the PB they are screaming at each other about Trumps Ukraine statements, it is fun to watch. Very similar to the left tearing itself apart when their various identity theories get too intersected.

Two sides of the same coin.

Nah, just a guy who quit Baker Hughes because he hated working in Siberia with the druncles, a couple of dudes with Shell Pipeline, demolition contractor with a Chevron contract, contract to build Sakhalin 1 onshore natural gas processing plant, and a friend who is former finance director for Gazprom. Along with that bid for a contract to supply 3 modular GTL plants to stranded natural gas deposits to far away to lay a pipeline to.

While you know zero and have zero clue about oil/refining and chemical processes

ISW Update Dec 22

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Russian President Vladimir Putin repeated his latest assertion that he should have violated the ceasefire he had imposed on Ukraine in 2014 and 2015 by launching a full-scale invasion even earlier than February 2022.

Ukrainian forces reportedly struck an oil depot in Oryol Oblast with drones on the night of December 21 to 22.

Russian forces recently executed more Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) on the battlefield.

Ukrainian forces recently regained lost positions in western Zaporizhia Oblast, and Russian forces recently advanced near Kupyansk, Toretsk, and Pokrovsk and in Kursk Oblast.

North Korea may have transferred at least four additional ballistic missiles to Russia.

Russian rocket engines for space use kerosene and LOX as fuel. The same fuels which SpacX used in its first rockets. It's already advanced to LOX/LNG engines.

Also, note that Russian rockets are from a central base to space, with fresh LOX which lasts about a month or so before bleeding off significantly enough to affect performance.
