A $27 trillion dollar GDP means we'd near double the DOD budget at $1.3 trillion.
It'll be interesting to see who supports Trump's proposal.

I think I'm gonna go buy some Lockheed Martin!

Trump is likely using the 5% number as an initial negotiating proposal. He'll likely settle on 3% or 3.5% eventually. That's still a significant increase for the US and a massive increase for most European countries.

Ukraine's Security Service identifies Russian general who ordered attack on Kramatorsk that killed Reuters journalist – photo
VALENTYNA ROMANENKO — Friday, 20 December 2024, 15:27
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has collected evidence against a Russian general who organised a missile attack on the Sapfir (Sapphire) Hotel in Kramatorsk, where a film crew of the international news agency Reuters was staying on 24 August 2024.
Source: Security Service of Ukraine; Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine
Details: A Reuters journalist was killed in the Russian attack and five of his colleagues sustained injuries.
According to the SSU investigators, the person responsible for this air attack is Russian Colonel General Alexei Kim who holds the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine clarified that according to the temporary staffing schedule, he is currently the Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces Group of the Russian Armed Forces and the Head of the Centre for the Organisation of Fire and Nuclear Destruction at the Military Command of the Russian Armed Forces.
Kim signed the directive and gave the combat order to fire on the hotel, where only civilians were staying.
To carry out the attack, Kim engaged one of the missile units under his command.
In accordance with his order, the unit hit the hotel with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.
The strike destroyed the hotel building, and five civilians sustained injuries of varying severity in addition to the Reuters journalists.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served Colonel-General Kim with a notice of suspicion in absentia under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Art. 28.2, Art. 437.2 (waging the war of aggression), and Art. 438.2 (violation of the laws and customs of war).
The SSU continues to work to bring the offender to justice.

We spent a higher percent of GDP pre Clinton back to 1940. The nation enjoyed great wealth when it was a much higher percentage.

If I were Col-Gen Kim I'd make sure no scooters were anywhere near my building.

Y'all have been talking about the first part of that sentence, but no one wants to talk about the second part?
Where are SirWinston and texag and the other Putin-lovers who promised that Trump would stop all aid to Ukraine on Day 1? They promised many, many times that it would happen.
I've been refreshing every 30 seconds, waiting for them to admit that they were completely wrong.

One person was killed, and nine others were injured as a result of a Russian missile strike on Kyiv in the morning of December 20. Also, 630 residential buildings, 16 medical facilities, 17 schools, and 13 kindergartens have been left without heat in Holosiivskyi district.
Attacking civilians is usually a mistake. It wastes missiles and drones on low value targets and really pisses off the general population.

This is such a weird melt. Everyone said Trump will end the War in Ukraine. That's what he is trying to do.

Putin was fantasizing about sending an Oreshnik missile into Kyiv, just yesterday during his press conference.

No, that's not what SirWinston, texag, and our other Russia bros have said repeatedly. They have insisted that Trump wouldn't send another bullet to Kyiv. Do I really have to quote their posts? I think that I do.
