Biden lifts ban on Ukraine using US arms to strike inside Russia
By Mike Stone and Humeyra Pamuk

November 17, 202412:19 PM CST

WASHINGTON, Nov 17 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration has lifted restrictions that had blocked Ukraine from using U.S.-provided weapons to strike deep into Russian territory, said three sources familiar with the matter, in a significant change to U.S. policy in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Ukraine plans to conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days, the sources said, without revealing details due to operational security concerns.

The White House declined to comment.

Finally! Of course, it still had to be announced via the media, instead of with explosions, but it's still a good thing.

Lots of people have been advising Biden that Putin is unlikely to do anything too crazy right before Trump takes office, so the "escalation" fear seems to have dissipated a bit.

Religious pluralism weakens society and makes it impossible to defend your values.

By the way, this is abjectly false. European state-sponsored churches (such as Russia's) gave themselves over to corruption, and they are a major reason why Europe became so weak and secular.

In contrast, American religious pluralism significantly contributed to our greatness. If the pastor of one's local Presbyterian church was a lecherous crook, one could always leave and go to the Methodist church, or vice versa. American churches had to compete in the marketplace of ideas, and religion thus became a matter of intellectual decision -- of choice -- and thus was less likely to be experienced as formulaic and meaningless.

Our religious pluralism defeated the world in wars for over 200 years to become the world's only superpower.

By contrast, the new woke ideology seeks to repress religious belief and expression. Christians who actually believe what the Bible says about sex and gender face discrimination in academia, government, and many corporations.

Lima, you are part of the new "woke Right," and your goal of a new religious tyranny is the same as that of the woke Left. The only difference is which people enforce the tyranny.

Are these the ones who advised on that magnificent organized withdrawal from Afghanistan, or the ones that are the fashion designers for the men/he/she/it outfits for our military?

Does escalation include tactical nukes?

The only thing this will solve is more dead people on both sides. What a waste.

All of this could have been avoided if you just didnt poke the bear, now you are just escalating it.

There are dozens of conflicts all around the world, why did we decide to spend over 200 billion on this one, the most corrupt country outside of africa, ya wonder?

The Biden decision now massively increases the pressure on Scholz to deliver Taurus.

I gave you an up vote for the humor and creativity. And you made a good point.

You proved that a blind squirrel can find an acorn,

Reminder that killing Ukrainian kids every day is what the Russia bros in here want. They want Russia to be able to hit Ukrainian residential buildings with long-range weapons everyday, but don't even want Ukraine to have the ability to use long-range weapons to take out actual military targets.

Nice try but your propaganda bullshite doesn’t work.

We want death to stop on both sides and American tax dollars to be conserved and not being spent playing world police.

And that’s what will happen when Trump takes office. If you don’t like it that’s a personal problem. Stay out of the bushes. Thanks

By who? President-elect Trump who told Zelensky that he would continue to help Ukraine on a phone call less than 10 days ago?
