That's absolutely what I would say to every dictator-loving, anti-American loser in here. We really have people in here who are ready to sell out our national security because they elevate Putin and Orban due to insane Culture War crap.
What's important is defeating the enemy trying to destroy our economy by giving the Houthis targeting data on our ships, attacking our troops in Iraq, partnering with the Norks ... anyone against that is indeed betraying America.

So you are in NC, working full time to help the people there? Thanks for your service. I assume that your posts here are simply during the small breaks you take to rest.
Listen you demented a-hole. Yes I have been to NC and I have seen it.I happen to spend alot of time in NC.Assholes like you don't give a damn for those people, but you sure suck off Ukraine. Seems to me like you should go to Ukraine because I think you care alot more for that place than you do here.
Go to hell. You are an evil pos. You remind me of Dick Cheney.

You do realize we are capable of doing more than one thing at a time right? And that money spent in Ukraine or Israel doesn’t mean it was taken out of the hands of North Carolinians? Probably not honestly

Just because it is written in some news report, doesn't make it reality.
And just because you blindly refuse to even acknowledge multiple reports...from multiple sources...doesn't mean it isn't happening.
The simple fact that you are ignoring it...defending any reports about it...says more about you, on this board, than me.
Y'all want to talk about the war...talk about the fricking war. I have never brought any questions or comments that were not just that.

Oh, so you have seen it. But it's not important enough for you to volunteer there? I guess that you really don't care all that much, then. Maybe the emergency isn't quite as extreme as to prevent our government from helping there while it also writes social security checks and guards our national security.
Quit your disgusting trolling of this thread with your insane political obsession.

Of course he does. But he only cares about making political points. He somehow thinks that saying we can't do anything else until the people of NC get more help is going to cause some posters here to change their votes from Democrat to GOP. That's how insane he is.

And the craziest part about it is that most of us live in Louisiana. We actually know what the federal government does and does not do after hurricanes.
After Hurricane Laura, President Trump visited, but he didn't waive some kind of magic wand and fix everything. Ask the people of Lake Charles about the federal response. The government ain't Serv-Pro, and you aren't going to be able to pretend that it never happened. That's not what the federal government does.
Maybe the NC hurricane response is a good talking point to ignorant folks in other states, but it's just stupid in this forum.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
28 October 2024
Russian Forces have made gains into the heavily contested town of Chasiv Yar in eastern Ukraine. They have highly likely crossed the canal in southern Chasiv Yar and approached the town's boundaries. In the central part of the canal district, it is likely Russian Forces have made limited advances west of the canal into the eastern part of Chasiv Yar. However, it is highly likely that the central and northern parts of the canal district remain fiercely contested, with Russian Forces unable to consolidate in these areas.
From mid-July 2024 until recently, Russian Forces had been unable to cross the canal due to extensive defensive measures taken by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are finishing the construction of fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region.
This was announced by the head of RMA, Ivan Fedorov.
"The second line is already 99.9% finished, the third line will be conditionally finished in the coming weeks. The task is to make the Zaporizhzhia region a fortress," Fedorov said.

The russians throw the wounded on the assault against the background of losses near Lyman, — MDI.
Losses on the part of the russian army are serious, some groups have lost combat capability. Due to the lack of proper shelter from Ukrainian forces' drones, the demoralized troops refuse to go into battle.
The command of the russian federation forces even lightly wounded soldiers to attack, using methods of intimidation and pressure.

The black market of weapons is flourishing in Russia
The Federal Security Service said today that it has discovered a network of "illegal weapons workshops" in 39 regions of the country. The special service said that it had identified and suppressed the activities of 124 gunsmiths from 59 clandestine workshops located, in particular, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol and the so-called "DPR".
According to the FSB, more than 330 firearms were seized, including shotguns, grenade launchers, flamethrowers and mortars, about 300 kilograms of explosives, 123 electric detonators and more than 633 thousand rounds of ammunition.
Apparently, corruption in the Russian Ministry of Defense only continues to grow, because those "workshops" that have been uncovered by Russian security forces today are only a small part of what is stolen from the warehouses of the Russian army and sold to "black" arms dealers.
Meanwhile, reports of the closure of such "black shops" for the sale and production of weapons in Russia have become a mass phenomenon since the beginning of the full-scale war.
So at the end of March 2024, the Russian media reported on the closure of a network of “illegal gun shops” where 562 units of firearms of domestic and foreign production were seized, as well as more than 80000 rounds of various caliber, more than 30 kg of gunpowder and TNT, 127 major parts of weapons.
Already in October, the Federal Security Service of Russia stated that for two months it had seized 352 firearms from illegal circulation and stopped the work of 42 "illegal weapon workshops".
According to their data, they seized 42 grenade launchers, 6 machine guns, 67 automatic rifles, 12 submachine guns, 105 rifles, carbines and shotguns and 120 pistols and revolvers. In addition, the agency found 507 grenades, shells and various mines, as well as 138,000 rounds of ammunition and 33 kilograms of explosives.
One of the most common places where such "illegal weapons workshops" are covered is, unexpectedly, the Russian-occupied so-called "DPR" and "LPR".

One reason why the Russian Central Bank struggles to control inflation is that interest rates hardly influence the ruble exchange rate. Before 2022, higher rates would lead to a stronger ruble, leading to lower prices in Russia. This doesn't work anymore due to war & sanctions.
Since 2022, the link between Russia's capital market and international capital markets is mostly severed. Russians don't invest abroad and foreigners don't invest in Russia, for reasons beyond the Central Bank's control. The ruble exchange rate listens to trade alone.
The Central Bank writes that a 1% interest rate hike nowadays results in only an 0.2% ruble appreciation. Before 2022, this effect was several times stronger, and it was quite convenient for the regulator, because this type of monetary policy transmission is so fast and direct.

North Korea sends inexperienced soldiers to Russia for war against Ukraine - WSJ
The North Korean military, which is only in the initial stages of service, lacks the necessary physical training and combat experience outside their country.
The publication notes that their special training was mainly focused on operations in the mountainous terrain of South Korea - which is quite different from positional warfare on flat terrain along the Ukrainian-Russian border.

North Korea did not provide kim jong-un's elite troops to russia for the war in Ukraine, — WSJ.
Intelligence and video footage indicate that many of the soldiers sent are teenagers and young recruits. The soldiers appear short and thin, which may indicate a malnutrition problem in North Korea.
NATO Secretary General Rutte confirmed that russia is recruiting soldiers from North Korea in the war against Ukraine. He called on the russian federation and the DPRK to immediately stop these actions.

According to HUR, the Russian army is intensifying its offensive near Lyman in Donetsk, deploying additional assault units from its 283rd and 488th motorized rifle regiments. UDF have inflicted heavy losses, rendering some Russian assault groups combat ineffective. Morale among Russian troops is low, with many refusing to fight due to a lack of protection against Ukrainian drones. In response, the Russian command is pressuring and coercing lightly wounded soldiers into further assaults.

Weekend map thread for week ending Sunday 27th October 2024
Highlights: Large Russian gains in the Vuhledar and Selydove areas marked, with Russian forces breaking through the Ukrainian lines and raising the flag in Bohoyavlenka, 9 kilometers northwest of Vuhledar, and being sighted near the settlements to the west.
Russian forces captured Selydove, raising the flag over the town and also raising a flag in Vyshneve.
We're expecting Russian flag raises in the rest of Hirnyk and Kurakhivka any day now.
To be clear to anyone that just shrugs these off - these are not normal movements. Ukrainian forces are in disarray, and there is now a very good chance for Russia to capitalise upon these efforts and conquer significant areas

I truly hope you are being paid to type some of what you type in here.
Do you think conscription patrols are going into upscale Kyiv nightclubs now because recruitment and desertion numbers are good and everything is peachy? WSJ released actual video of that happening btw, but I'm sure you'll just say its doctored or something.

I think you're referencing SirWinston and Lima. IDK What Lima's deal is, but SirWinston to me just clearly thinks a) we should put America first and b) he likes that people like Orban at least in theory buck the global west's narratives and doesn't just bow down to what he is "supposed" to do, but I don't really see him as some huge Orban fan.

You've once again twisted the original statement around.

Funding the IDF while the people of N Carolina who have lost everything sleep in tents and/or in their cars as they are abandoned by their government.
That dude made it an and or or statement.
FTR, this recovery effort is actually moving rapidly as possible even if $100 billion were already thrown at NC. There are a laws which made the recently built road to Chimney Rock impossible so all the government agencies turned their backs on the volunteer "West Virginia Boys" could build what would be an illegal road.

Both of those are first and foremost moral statements, Should vs Should not
