And by the way, you’re really telling some Russian that he needs to be Brutus for the sake of the world? What happened to Brutus and Cassius? What were their legacies? How about they read Dante’s Inferno to find out. What happened to Brutus was not good, so he’s a fricking moron for bribing a KGB agent with the fate and legacy of Brutus.

I don't know that Dante is the definitive source on the eternal fate of Brutus and Cassius.

A more apt comparison is what happened to Rome after Caesar was killed. If Brutus and Cassius were trying to retain republican control by the Roman Senate they utterly failed. Anthony stepped in and then Octavius as Emperor. The Senate was nothing but a rubber stamp after that.

So the question would be who fills the void? What is the succession plan for after Putin? Could someone just as bad or worse step in?

The Russians understand one thing well, and have for centuries, it’s force and power. Sorry that’s just what history has taught us. It is what it is.

You stand up to them and punch them in the nose no only are they not a problem, they will been your friend and ally, which they were just 20-25 years ago. We worked great together against muslim extremist as shared tons of intelligence and shite. I personally hosted retired KGB agents here in Mobile trying to sell products they tried to use to find our subs in the oil and gas industry. One on one we always got along great.

Unfortunately, Putin rose out of the rubble and war on Islamic terrorist to now bite us on the arse. We fricked up the peace too which is another issue.

We don’t want WW3 over Ukraine, he will not over Belarus. Ukraine is gone, but he has no intention of stopping there. This is bad news for everyone and even the Chinese get that now.

Yeah, good point. Augustus just happened to be one of the most competent leaders in world history. How often do those come along? It could get much, much worse.

There really is a little of everything in a modern-day war thread.

We just need Fr33 waxing poetic about the romantic horror of Cossak infantry fighting in the snow and writing a little ditty about Putin and Zelenskyy with some Eminem level rhymes of Zelenskyy.

Don't know, but the US stock market was closed for 4/5 months during WWI

LINK
quote:

The outbreak of World War I in Europe forced the NYSE to shut its doors on July 31, 1914, after large numbers of foreign investors began selling their holdings in hopes of raising money for the war effort. All of the world’s financial markets followed suit and closed their doors by August 1.
By the end of November, however, American officials had decided to reopen the NYSE because it was thought that bond trading, albeit with a set of restrictions designed to safeguard the American economy, could help prevent the financial ruin of the belligerent countries by raising money for the war effort. Trading of stocks didn’t resume until December 12, 1914, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA)—the most important of various stock indices used to gauge market performance—suffered its worst percentage drop (24.39 percent) since it was first published in 1896.

You went from hiding in a bunker in Mississippi to drinking in a NOLA bar. I can only imagine that this is a mission to help your re-population plan.

Post pics so we can give our approval on your choices.
