This Russian S-400 battery is getting completely wiped out by ATACMS missiles. You can see the cluster ammunition covering the area. The loaded S-400 missiles almost immediately catch fire and explode in their distinctive fashion.

Let's all LOL one more time at Erdogan, who decided that he would rather have S-400 systems than F-35s.

Exclusive: Putin wants Ukraine ceasefire on current frontlines

quote:

MOSCOW/LONDON, May 24 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to halt the war in Ukraine with a negotiated ceasefire that recognises the current battlefield lines, four Russian sources told Reuters, saying he is prepared to fight on if Kyiv and the West do not respond.

Three of the sources, familiar with discussions in Putin's entourage, said the veteran Russian leader had expressed frustration to a small group of advisers about what he views as Western-backed attempts to stymie negotiations and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's decision to rule out talks.

"Putin can fight for as long as it takes, but Putin is also ready for a ceasefire – to freeze the war," said another of the four, a senior Russian source who has worked with Putin and has knowledge of top level conversations in the Kremlin.

He, like the others cited in this story, spoke on condition of anonymity given the matter's sensitivity.
For this account, Reuters spoke to a total of five people who work with or have worked with Putin at a senior level in the political and business worlds. The fifth source did not comment on freezing the war at the current frontlines.

quote:

Based on their knowledge of conversations in the upper ranks of the Kremlin, two of the sources said Putin was of the view that gains in the war so far were enough to sell a victory to the Russian people.
quote:

Three sources said Putin understood any dramatic new advances would require another nationwide mobilisation, which he didn't want, with one source, who knows the Russian president, saying his popularity dipped after the first mobilisation in September 2022.
quote:

Putin's insistence on locking in any battlefield gains in a deal is non-negotiable, all of the sources suggested.

Putin would, however, be ready to settle for what land he has now and freeze the conflict at the current front lines, four of the sources said.

"Putin will say that we won, that NATO attacked us and we kept our sovereignty, that we have a land corridor to Crimea, which is true," one of them said, giving their own analysis.

That's kind of a lazy comparison. A better one would be claiming "Democrats today support segregation because they did in the 60's". Its important to compare an actual organizational structure to another one.

If the narrative was "Ukraine is full of Nazis", then you have something.

This is just another example of us getting lost in the weeds in this thread.

But I hope the Slava Ukraine folks at least have the self awareness to realize if Azov were a Russian battalion, you would all 100% be calling them Nazis

Change attacked to threatened and it's an easy sell given it is true.

Of course, Russians and their supporters are going to claim NAZI. Anyone not for Russia is a NAZI to them.

Azov Battalion saved Mariupol from capture in 2014, and was made up of mostly soccer hooligans who like to fight. They weren't much different than soccer hooligans in England.

I've been saying basically this for months

The "he wants all of Ukraine" "he will go after Poland/whoever else next" crowd were always wrong.

The posturing around Kharkiv makes even more sense given this report. They never had enough bodies in the area to actually take the city, and they had to know that. Ukraine would also likely not agree to any deal where Russia keeps Kharkiv. But you move the lines up and build up the threat level to use in negotiations.

You’re cheering on Nazis and actively proposing we arm them.

That’s a lazy take. It’d be more like saying, “Whoever flies or thinks we should leave up confederate flags, supports slavery.”

Yeah but thats an actual policy, not an ideology. Which I guess segregation is also a policy, but also kind of an ideology? So both of those probably aren't 1:1 comps

They are 1:1 comps. The Democrat thing is a 1:1 comp as well. Anyone who says anything of those likes is usually someone who is incapable of critical thinking, and is very simple minded. It’s weird seeing Conservatives using Liberal tactics though for political discussion.

What you're saying is closer saying the local ku klux klan chapter turned into an outdoor costume party club in 7 years.

I mean, maybe it's possible, but calling people stupid for not believing it certainly does reveal the stupidity of someone.

You are off the rails. If no one else in your life is telling you this, I'm sorry you don't have proper support.

Maybe try your church or a licensed professional.

No, it's what Ukrainian Jews are saying.

And, yes, it's profoundly stupid to say that "Azov is Nazi."

Besides all the reasons that Davidzon listed above, Azov isn't even a thing anymore. For over a year now, it's just been the 3rd Assault Brigade, and "Azov" doesn't exist. What was once Azov is just another ordinary Ukrainian military unit.

When people post easily discredited Russian propaganda, I shouldn't call them stupid?

Some of y'all sound like Ivy-League campus protestors:

"The US is pro-slavery because it honors slaveholders on its currency."

Russia is supporting Iran and Hamas in their efforts to eliminate the state of Israel. Talking about "Ukrainian Nazis" is not only insane, but offensive and evil.
