Not a nuclear scientist, but the last Russian nuclear power plant melt down killed 100,000s of thousands and they were lucky it’s wasn’t much worse but caught huge break on radioactive fallout as most of it fell on uninhabited areas. If this is 10x as large, pretty sure a meltdown kills millions depending on wind strength and direction. Looks like wind direction is back toward Russia right now if my wind app is working but not sure

If it’s 10 times worse than Chernobyl, it’s not going to be zero. Thousands died from that alone.
Your fear mongering in this thread is noted and accounted for.

This entire campaign has been a giant exercise in stupidity and it’s now culminating in the shelling of a nuclear power plant. Why would anyone do that?
Slavs generally aren't bright people. They do love the bottle, though

No, not even close.

Apparently a tweet in the other thread said it very well could have been the Ukrainians that fricked up the plant by firing RPGs at Russians trying to take it over
This isn’t like if the Taiwanese intentionally frick up their infrastructure and factories on the way out as a frick you to the CCP. This makes their land uninhabitable for thousands of years to where even if they do beat the Russians, they’ve done more damage to their land than any horrific tyrant in world history.

According to the BBC, the internationally recognised death toll shows that 31 died as an immediate result of Chernobyl. Two workers died at the site of the explosion, another died in hospital soon after due to their injuries and 28 operators and firemen are believed to have died within three months of the accident. The UN estimates that only 50 deaths can be attributed to the disaster, but the true toll will probably never be known. In 2005, the UN predicted some 4,000 people would die from exposure to radiation.

I’m sorry, that’s a logical question: will it result in ten times the death toll or is it ten times more difficult to contain? I don’t know what ten times worse actually means. If the later, yeah, it’s going to be way higher than ten times the death toll in Chernobyl.

I didn't say that, comrade.

I mean, people still live around Chernobyl. Many never left.

Not even close on the number. Also it became as bad as it did due in a large part to incompetence in the handling of the plant and the immediate aftermath

You posted crap, buddy. "100,000s of thousands" of people didn't die at Chernobyl. It's not even close. And when you post incorrect, illiterate crap and then insult a frickin' university in the same breath, you just look that much stupider.
For everyone else, I would just point out that this is an example of the thought process that leads people to pick a side in a war like it's fricking Butler in the NCAA Basketball Tournament or whatever. Just total idiocy.
