Wrong, they can keep fighting or they can surrender. Putin was never going to settle and permit the current government to stay in power.

The notion is there is a peaceful solution should have ended when Putin launched his SO.

This is the guy who had his $5 billion Premier League team stolen from him by Boris Johnston.

He didn't lift a finger to defend Trump AFTER Trump gave Ukraine Javelin missiles!

He could have at least said "I see what is happening in America and I do not agree with these political games. President Trump has been our strongest ally and he was well within his rights to inquire about this situation and call for an investigation."

Nope. He just left DJT twisting in the wind and later palled around with Nuland and Vindmann.

The invasion would have NEVER happened under Trump, so it boomeranged around on him bigly.

Ukrainian Drones Autonomously Target and Destroy Russian SAM Fleet

This was the next logical step in drone evolution. Powerful cell phone processors allow for things like image recognition, tracking in real time and autonomous navigation.

Unfortunate truth, and an unpopular opinion here.

Russia, is grinding the frick out of Ukraine now.

The are playing the long game and DGAF what the world thinks. They also know their people will back them forever.

I think they make a break out in the next 6-8 weeks. It is time for Ukraine to come to the table.

They have only two choices, concede what they have lost, or lose more.

I agree with most of this, but I don't agree with the part in bold.

Less than a year ago, an armed convoy headed towards Moscow with Prigozhin, and citizens came out to cheer for them. Thousands came out to mourn the loss of Navalny.

Putin has control, but he's not assured control forever.

If we let Ukraine in NATO now then you are right, it’s like declaring war. No way should our government agree to that right now.

I don't think the NATO charter allows a country to join when they are at war or in the midst of a territorial conflict.

EU is a different case.

There have been some historically ignorant things posited on this board. But the idea that the US or the EU or even Ukraine could "Stop the war" by just giving Russia a few provinces is absolutely absurd. Russia doesn't even bother lying about this. Where have you even seen this?

Let me tell you....you haven't. Russia's conditions for "Stopping the war" are for Ukraine to hand over its heavy weapons, and turn over its government to a hand picked Russian puppet. Essentially: Give up their entire country to Russian control.

Russia started this. And Russia perpetuates it every day.

There are only three ways this ends: 1) Russia goes home, 2) Russia conquers Ukraine 3) WW3

Ceding Crimea and the Donbas in exchange for some imaginary peace has simply never been an option.

Yes, Russia is grinding down Ukraine by losing its Black Sea Fleet, and refineries, and tanks and vehicles and aircraft!!! And gaining small tracts of land at the expense of high casualty rates, hastening its own demographic collapse, not to mention its economy being in the toilet and it now being relegated to a lapdog of China.

Utterly brilliant on Putin's part. A mastermind of strategy!!!

And when Putin leaves another one just like him will be waiting in line.
The western style leaders did not last very long. They went back to their old ways as soon as they could.
They don’t treat the people with any respect and it does not matter if their people fall in line. They put them in line.

Putin is hung up on the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan (I don't call it an "invasion," because the actual "People's Revolution"-installed Socialist government of Afghanistan at the time begged the U.S.S.R. - who they desired to assimilate into and join their neighboring -Stans in, because, frankly, nobody else gave a shite about the place and there were no other prospects - to come help them fight off the CIA-funded Mujahideen Freedom Fighters who were trying to overthrow them) and how it eroded the Soviet Union and caused its collapse.

He's steered himself into the exact same thing. I don't agree with how the US has gone about taking advantage of this and seeking to make sure he destroys himself at the cost of Ukrainian lives, but that's what they are doing.

The cracks are showing more and more...

Armenia is turning to the EU...

Reuters: Armenia suspends participation in Russian-led CSTO security bloc

If Russia collapses that leaves China only Iran and North Korea as ride or die allies in the opposition to Democracy team...
