I called this about a week ago. Strikes on oil production in Russia will lead to strikes on energy production in Ukraine. More and more escalation.

Russia has been striking Ukrainians energy production since the fall of 2022. It is just now launching massive strikes against Ukrainian energy targets because it took that long to stockpile enough missiles for those massive strikes after depleting its reserves in the winter of 2022-2023. It has nothing to do with Ukraine’s strikes on Russian oil refineries.

That doesn't conflict with what I said.

Sure, the timing is just a coincidence

It’s war. Both sides attack each other. They have been going it for over two years.

Much of what we see depends on circumstances; weather, availability of weapons, and an upgrade in technology.

I mean SURE it only has to do with Ukraine attacking the oil refineries and Russia has never targeted Ukrainian energy production and this is pure escalation

Al Qaeda was/is a political organization with the goal of overthrowing the Saud regime in Saudi Arabia because the royal family is corrupt and robs the national treasury blind, then tells the citizens "This is the fault of the Western Oil COmpanies... they are evil and just don't leave enough money for you in the deals they force us into"

The House of Saud made a deal with the Imams to get their blessing to rule. After the Kabah was occupied in Meca, the Imams demanded that the House of Saud fund their little games against Harb (war which means anything not Islamic). The Imams didn't want oil and gas exploration but due low revenue for passage for pilgrims to go to Meca the House of Saud had no money and had to beg for drilling so they could have revenue to pay off all the sheiks then needed to so to stay in power.

Agree. And both sides respond to the changing battlefield.

If Ukraine started attacking Russian civilians in specific targeted attacks, what do you think Russia would do?

Escalation of targeted attacks on the energy grid being caused by attacks on Russia's oil production doesn't mean that Russia wasn't already doing it, or that they won't stop, continue, or escalate further.

That was a lot of work for nothing. Yes, Russia has been attacking energy infrastructure but this is on a different level. They've caused more damage in the past 10 days than the previous two years.

Err, can you document that because my common sense tells me no way.

Here is the prison apartment for Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian who murdered 77 people.

Torture > Whatever the frick this is

Interesting example...Breivik is a Far-Right Christian Dominionist... his reason for murdering his fellow Norwegians, mainly teens at a camp retreat, is that the organization they were part of, and he believed increasing numbers of Norweigian society in general, are anti-Israel/Anti-semitic, and pro-Palestinian/Muslim. Since he believes Israel is needed to start the chain of events that leads to Jesus returning, he thought it was necessary to strike a blow against "enemies of Israel" at home.

Russia had to wait until after the winter to have enough missiles to attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

It was a great strike that helped them strategically, but can they sustain that level of damage? If not, can they muster enough to try again in the future?

I also wonder how Russia would fare if Ukraine started lobbying missiles back at their energy grid.

You mentioned 1 thing and only 1 thing that led to "energy production" strikes and it was escalatory and now are back peddling that it there are other reasons and is just a continuation of prior Russian tactics. Glad I could clear it up for you

Been a rough 24 hours for Ukraine.

Firms data shows that the missile strike conducted earlier today by a Tu-22M3 likely struck a potential training/storage facility in Kamyanka, Odessa region. It location is just north of the port city of Izmail.
