Russia in recent months has suffered shortages of gasoline and diesel. Wholesale fuel prices have spiked, although retail prices are capped to try to curb them in line with official inflation.

With far less productive land than say, the Great Plains, Russian farmers need a lot more fuel to achieve large enough harvest (not by acre) but to achieve tonnages required to make it more than breakeven, and then there is cost to get to market. Farmers have been protesting not only the shortage of fuels but prices.

This also tells me that refineries are operating at well below capacities in what would be bankruptcy level of througput, if not subisidized.

Seems like Russia energy infrastructure would be a good target for Ukraine. I'd bet 10-20 guys w drones could do some serious damage.
How much would China's support dry up if the oil spicket was turned down/off?

Russia exported 4.817 million tons of gasoline and almost 35 million tons of diesel last year.

The export volumes are a very significant decline from average exports. 1/6th of average diesel exports alone were last year's exports

If Ukraine attacked and did significant harm to Russian oil and gas infrastructure it might cause global prices to rise harming western consumers too.

Lots of people misinterpreting that bit online to claim that Ukraine is beyond the final layer of the Russian defense. That's obviously not what ISW is claiming.

I read the post about Ukrainian armor breaking through the third Russian line of defense. It appeared to me to potentially be a big deal.
What did I miss?

Dumb meme is dumb. Something I would expect a grandma/grandpa from rural Mississippi to post between rants about human traffickers stalking people at Walmart

The vast majority of American money spent is going to the American companies making the weapons. This builds our defense industrial base and provides jobs for American workers while also helping our military modernize our weapons stockpiles.

The vast majority of the cash that Ukraine gets is from Europe. The US has given Ukraine comparatively little cash.

Theiner is absolutely correct:

quote:

The US has to make a choice:

1) Pay Lockheed Martin to refurbish 1,000 outdated ATACMS and give Ukraine 1,000 ready-to-go ATACMS
2) Pay Lockheed Martin more money to dismantle the same 1,000 outdated ATACMS

The US doesn't lack (!) ATACMS - the White House just lacks courage.

It's time to start calling Biden a coward on Ukraine. He's repeating the same mistake that Obama made in Syria: running his mouth and then failing to keep his promises.

The American people are turning against Biden's policy in Ukraine because they don't want to spend money to support a stalemate, which is what this now looks like to most people (I do not agree that it is a stalemate, BTW).

If we're going to help Ukraine, then we shouldn't be afraid of helping Ukraine to win. Biden is scared that Ukraine could win, and he's afraid of destabilizing Russia.

I see where he was invited by them to appear(back in April), and they play excerpts from his show, but nothing on him having a show

I’m going to wait for more info on this. This smells like a bad photoshop or something out of context.

That said, I wouldn’t be surprised.

NBC News...

U.S. will send Ukraine ATACMS long-range missiles for the first time

President Joe Biden has told his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that the United States will provide a small number of long-range missiles to aid the war with Russia, three U.S. officials and a congressional official familiar with the discussions told NBC News on Friday.

The officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly, did not say when the missiles would be delivered or when a public announcement would be made.

The morbidly funny thing is Russia is actively engaged in human trafficking here. Do the Q tards care? Of course not. They don’t actually care about human trafficking. It’s just ammunition for their partisan bloodlust fever dreams.
