You’re welcome. Guess you’re a hawk that wants to keep funneling our money to losing causes. This administration bumbled a withdrawal from Afghanistan and then got us involved in a war that doesn’t matter to us.

“The Ukraine” would win a war against Russia?

Backed by superior weapons systems from NATO.

But, yeah. You right. Putin wants a drawn out invasion that drains his pockets and military resources.

12D chess and shite.

That's why he hasn't fired a shitload of generals...oh wait.

Tomorrow, Putin will insist that NATO forced Russia to eliminate Prigozhin.
NATO forces Russia to commit all of its unlawful acts.
They’re actually good, peace loving folks .
If only we could stop NATO from all its provocations…

Why stop with Ukraine. Let’s add another dipshit country to nato and front the bill.

Ah yes, anyone who doesn’t believe Russia is happy to have a few hundred thousand dead and wounded so they can “play with their food”, must be happy about sending money to ukraine.

Ironic name considering you’re completely devoid of any truth or logic.

Yet you’re the one supporting another money dump that doesn’t help the citizens of our country.

Silly me, i should just stay ignorant like you so i can signal muh fiscal virtues.

Nah, i’ll continue keeping myself informed. Thanks tho.

How many km2 has Russia gained, as of today, since Feb 2022 when their current SMO started.

Can you define Russia’s war goals? Since they’re just playing with food, how many men and equip do they have allocated until they get serious?

It’s more believable than Ukrainians beating the Russians

I like how once a week some A hole jumps in the thread and says, “Sending our tax money to another country blah blah Biden blah blah Zelenskyy fraud blah blah.”

This thread is about what is actually going on in the war. Not political views or stupid opinions. The Politard forum is a great place for that.

Was dumb to ever think Ukraine had a chance.

As an outside observer with no rooting interest in either side, I can see Ukraine is still in the fight, though the odds are against them, especially in the long term. Their main problem is the nature of the war has evolved into a stalemate. In such wars, the matter comes down to two factors, (1) the will to fight in light of mounting losses for seemingly little gain and (2) having enough men and material to feed the meat grinder of the front. The former heavily favors Russia who has vastly larger reserves of men and material, especially in the long run. But what about the later, namely the will to see it though?

I’ll start with Ukraine. Ukraine does has the benefit of not having to worry about its peoples resolve to see the war through, being they are the country fighting for its existence. This fact, coupled with Ukraine’s long history with Russia stokes a deep hatred in Ukraine for Russia. Russia has dominated Ukraine since the late 18th century. Other than a brief time following the collapse of the Russian Empire, Russia ruled most of what is today Ukraine for over two centuries with a very heavy hand. During that time the Russians inflicted numerous atrocities and general oppression against the Ukrainian people, including a manmade famine in the 1930s that killed millions in Ukraine. However, while Ukraine has the will to fight, what they lack, at least on the scale needed, is the means to fight. They lack the resources to produce enough weapons, vehicles, and ammunition to sustain combat on the scale required in this war. That’s their Achilles Heel. They rely on the West, specifically NATO, to provide them sufficient means to keep fighting. If NATO support waned, Ukraine would be forced to seek peace terms in a matter of weeks. And already there are signs NATO support is starting to strain as counties begin to see their own ammunition stockpiles become further and further depleted. Already multiple counties, including the US are seeing serious shortages of critical types of ammo, particularly artillery shells. And the public support in NATO counties is very divided. All it will take is a couple of elections going one way, or something like an economic downturn, and material support for Ukraine from NATO could be in serious jeopardy.

That brings us to Russia. Russia does have the mean and the men to sustain the war. Their reserves dwarf Ukraine’s. And they have an established military industrial complex to sustain heavy combat for the foreseeable future.
But what about the will of the people to support the war? Putin’s regime has made concerted efforts to (1) minimize the impact of the war on the Russian people and (2) paint the war in Ukraine as being one of defense against the rise of fascism. How effective is this though? Their lack of a full mobilization has been a huge factor in allowing the war to become a stalemate; which in turn is most likely eroding public support as more and more of their bothers, sons, and husbands become casualties in this war now approaching two years long. And it’s obvious Ukraine is no real threat to Russia. And there has already been a very public mutiny among Russia’s best combat forces just weeks ago. So how long will the Russian people tolerate this war? Cracks are already showing.

Thus, the crux of the matter in this war of attrition is what will hold out longer? NATO support for Ukraine or the will of the Russian people to tolerate the war? Only time will tell.

You can be against a “money dump” and still not say stupid stuff like Russia is playing with their food.

Accept the facts. Putin failed miserably at the outset and is now having to spend way more to fight this war than he expected.

Russia’s goal is to suck the west into a proxy war and drain our resources over time, not just tangible. Our sanctions did Jack shite and propped up Russian oil and gas. Russia and China are better partners today because of this war. The real country that matters in all this.

Don’t worry though. You’re going to get a two hour long “debate” that will probably focus on Ukraine and how us supporting them is the moral thing to do with no one asking why.

It’s all bullshite and dragging this country down.

But by all means continue to support our next never-ending war that has no clear direction, goal, or outcome.

yeah they invaded Ukraine, have lost upwards of 100k KIA/WIA/MIA, had to do a partial mobilization, had to use prisoners on the front line but sure sure they are just "playing with their food" because nothing screams competent like not ending a war quickly when you can. That must have been why Germany lost WWII, they didn't drag out their French offensive long enough like they did in Russia
