Only part of a company so not a complete disintegration, though if it continues in that area it could lead to localised collapse.

The authorities of Poland made a decision to strengthen the country's border with Belarus due to the arrival in the neighboring republic of the "Wagner" military forces.

This was stated by the Vice Prime Minister of Poland, the head of the ruling "Law and Justice" party, Yaroslav Kaczynski, following the results of the meeting of the government committee on security and defense.

If after the dismantling of Wagner and a Prigohzin Inquisition within the ranks of the Russian Military Ukraine cannot make substantial headway, I’m going to become pretty concerned about the limitations of Ukrainian offensive capabilities.

Really hope to see some progress in the next 3-4 weeks. July seems critical.

Considering how little flight time Russian air personnel are reported to get training wise that is a huge amount of experience to lose in a single day.

Yeah this doesn't sound good for him if as claimed.

quote:

Former chief editor of Echo of Moscow radio Aleksey Venediktov reports that Surovikin has not been in contact with his family for 3 days and that his bodyguards have not been responding to contacts either…

Also found this an interesting tidbit.

quote:

If Surovikin actually had been arrested (prudent to be skeptical right now), he might be one of the few (only?) generals in history to have been arrested for playing a part in 2 insurrections!

He had served 7 months in prison in 1991 for killing 3 protesters during the Putsch

Edit: Fixed link

Edit2:

Romanov's telegram channel is also claiming Surovikin has been arrested and was in fact taken in to custody back on the 25th according to war translated.

quote:

Russian combatant and reporter Romanov says that Surovikin is in "jail" (Lefortovo), and, in fact, was there since 25 June.

I am wondering if Surovikin's video message (on the 24th) telling Wagner to desist was "encouraged" after he was caught with his hands in the cookie jar and it was done as a way to tell Prigozhin that he couldn't count on his support if he continued with his actions. It would explain the sudden turn around the next day.

Sans Surovikin reappearing and retaining his position my money is on this being one of the more likely scenarios to explain events yet.

Isw update

Key Takeaways

Continued reporting about the deal mediated by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko to end the Wagner Group’s armed rebellion suggests that involved parties may still be negotiating the specifics of the agreement.

Russian sources speculated that Wagner’s rebellion is already having widespread impacts on the Russian command structure.

Russian authorities reportedly arrested Army General Sergei Surovikin on June 28, possibly indicating that the Kremlin intends to purge the MoD of figures viewed as disloyal.

The Kremlin will likely attempt to balance a desire to mitigate the widespread disdain for MoD establishment figures that fueled Wagner’s rebellion while also trying to disempower those who may have sympathized with the rebellion.

The Russian Duma is considering additional measures to increase control over the information space and promote self-censorship within broad internet communities.

Belarus formally ratified an agreement on the establishment of joint Russian-Belarusian training centers in Belarus on June 28.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a phone conversation with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major General Mohammad Bagheri on June 28.

Unconfirmed reports claim that Russian military police allegedly detained Wagner Group commanders in Syria.

Ukrainian forces conducted counteroffensive operations in at least four sectors of the front.

Russian and Ukrainian forces conducted ground attacks near Kreminna, Bakhmut, and in western Donetsk Oblast.

Russian forces conducted a strike on civilian infrastructure in Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast on the night of June 27.

Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations in western Zaporizhia Oblast and conducted limited probing attacks on the east (left) bank of the Dnipro River near the Antonivsky Bridge in Kherson Oblast on June 27 and 28.

Russian sources reported on continued Russian efforts to clarify terms and conditions for military service.

Russian and occupation officials continue efforts to deconflict legal discrepancies as part of the incorporation of occupied territories.

Where were the weapons in 2014, 2015,..... to 2022 when Ukraine citizens were being slaughtered.

Barack's Green Revolutions have caused so many deaths. That POS is worse than Bush 2.

One thing that I notice while watching the stream of info, is how experianced some of Ukraine's units are getting.

For Example: The 3rd Assault Brigade is currently operating in the area Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal. Previously they have been in the Bahkmut area. There has been a steady stream of video flowing for a weeks now showing them storming and clearing trenches.

They appear to be getting pretty good at it.

The fighters covered the enemy with heavy rifle and grenade launcher fire until they heard that the occupiers were surrendering.

This is a new video from the offensive battles of the Third Assault Brigade for positions on the banks of the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal.

The fighters of the 3rd company of the 1st mech battalion performed the combat mission, the evacuation of comrades and the proper reception of prisoners from the 57th motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Federation.

Thomas Theiner is getting a little testy: LINK

quote:

people are coming again with the soil of the Kakhovka reservoir.

Look, see this. Do you know what it is? Do you know how many Germany, the Netherlands and UK donated to Ukraine? With how many road km?

quote:

Do you know the MLC class it supports? Did you know that you can lay it onto river beds up to a depth of 1,2m to allow tanks to cross?
If you didn't know this yet, you're not qualified to have an opinion about military engineering.
You have an opinion - NATO has solutions.

That's the unit that was formerly known as Azov, by the way.
